well most the people who are saying they like USX seem to be new to the company or the industry as a whole. This is good because when you get into a fender bender or get tired of rail frt, waiting for days to get truck fixed. You will think the next company you go to is great.

As a long time employee of this company in the past. you would not think they where so great, if you experienced how they used to be versus what they became in 2004. I did 5600 miles in one week as a solo with this company, thats one week. Log books where filled out at home while you loaded the armored car with all the loot you made They used to have 2 way runs coast to coast. Avg driver was doing 3k- 4k every week unless they where a slacker who liked to sit in the term eating pizza all weekend and now? forget about it. even the teams are running super solo.

I don't buy that garbage that you ran 5600mi As a solo in one week especially with usx. One there no way legally it was done. The way they dispatch I don't see that happening. That was probably more than likely 2 weeks of running.

I may be new to the company but I have personally met tons of drivers who have 5 to 15 years experience with this company and I have yet to meet one who is not generally happy. I am sure that unhappy drivers exist but have not met them. Like anything in life, you will get out of it what you put in.

If the applicant the truth on his application then there is no reason for him to be sent home. They ask a lot of questions before you go and if you lied, it is your fault. This, of course, does not even address the people who fail drug screens of fail the physical. I am sure that is the companies fault also.

I was in a class of 19 and only one was sent home and that was after they tried for five days to verify his employment.

Add the miles up between Woodland Ca To Pittsburgh Pa and back. Ran a HP load that was canceled in route and returned to shipper. Ran it in a little over 5 days. Then was dp agian out of the same shipper up to Portland after unload. If you read the whole post I never said anything about it being legal. Ran from Icelandia LI to Seattle Wa in 2.5 days,Even with a 5hr shut down at Farewell Bend Or scales. Bayonne NJ to Las Vegas in 2 days. . Heck I can't even count how many team runs I did at that company because the teams where always walking their mutt or doing laundry and could not actually be bothered to run a load until they felt like it.

When I worked at USX it was forced dp and the only thing they cared about concerning logs is that they where turned in and filled out Not if you ran legal . They had people who did not even work for USX driving those auto shifts when they first started putting them in the truck

We used to log drive time while we where on time off and never filled out are logs unless the run could be done legally until we got to the receiver or home. We used to hump it to OKC and take the newbies out for road tests at 10bucks a pop and where told not to fail any of them unless they ran into something or run someone over. 6.5 years no wrecks no log tickets and 2 speed tickets 1 in Ohio and 1 in CA.

I could care less if you think it's bull but drivers that worked their in the 90's know how they ran. There where no 14 hr clocks or running out of hours. You always had hours.unless you where a whiner then you got the little star next to your name on the 10 screen and got to do the weekend runs from Tunnel hill to Atlanta. The rest of us where coast to coast baby.

Now it pick up take to rail yard sit around or pick up from rail and take to rec and sit around and every once in a while they throw you a bone.

Bought a house 50% down and 3 vehicles free and clear living out of a truck and running at USX, now they suck for a solo unless you like being out 7 days a working maybe 4 or 5 of them.

His post said that they didn't run legal, and that they logged driving time while at home. If you ignore the 10 hour rule (now 11), why pay any attention to the 70 hour rule?
