Thats great Wedge and you get to spend some time with him!
But what you have went through with your company is pure bull period! -
It's been over a year since we've seen him. Once he gets squared away, he'll come for a visit.
The problem with Central was that once the doctor (Central's) said she wouldn't sign off on the device, their safety director wasn't about to overrule and let me in (but I did try). They'll welcome me back provided I can pass the DOT's hearing portion to their satisfaction.
I've just had an MRI done to see if their is a reason (mechanical) for my asymmetrical hearing loss, which is what's causing the problem. I'll know the results this week. If it's clear, I'll move forward with new state of the art hearing aids.
So for now, I'll leave Central on the back burner. But I will be looking around. -
Well Wedge let us know what the MRI says.
Wedge Thanks this. -
This may sound strange but I kind of want the MRI to find something that can be removed, and will help improve my hearing............if you know what I mean. -
That's great news about your son. I'm thankful for his safety and safe return. I know you're excited to have him back.Wedge Thanks this. -
Wedge that's great news about your son! We all thank him for his service and are glad to see him home safely! I am sure what he went through on a daily basis makes trucking look like finger painting class!
As for Central, don't be let down. It also may not be the reason they are giving you. A lot of these companies won't take on an insurance risk, meaning risk that their insurance will have to pay for your fancy medical equipment! Keep in mind they are just one company out of hundreds of thousands! Enjoy some time with your son ( I couldn't possibly imagine my son going over there, though he is only 15 right now!) relax, recharge and then hit it again! Sometimes after a little break good things happen!
Wedge Thanks this. -
The part that bothers me is that all parties were in agreement that my hearing "as is" more than satisfies their requirement. I was asked by training to come up with a solution that would allow me to hear the trainer more clearly. That's exactly what I did. But the safety director decided he wasn't going to throw his weight around and overrule the doctor. Having been in a position similar to his, I can understand why he made that decision.
The good news is the doctor that provided me this hearing system says I can return it for a full refund.
We're ecstatic about our son being home. It'll be a couple of weeks before he can leave his base (they can't all leave at once). I thank you for the well wishesabout my son. I wish I could keep him home.
sammycat Thanks this. -
I'm not down about Central, just frustrated with the fact that this all goes back to the trainer. He has no idea what the ramifications of his actions were. The additional equipment I purchased was unnecessary, but at least I can return it.
I should have asked to be sent back to Conley with a different trainer. Maybe I wouldn't be in this fix. (shoulda, woulda, coulda)
Hopefully, I'll get these new hearing aids in short order, and I can try again.sammycat Thanks this. -
Hello Everyone.
I had an MRI done last Friday to be sure there was nothing causing my hearing loss, and the results are negative. No bad stuff in my nugget.
So the next step is new high tech hearing aids. I should hear something on that early next week.
Thanks for reading.
