Too much down time sitting at customers or waiting and no detention pay will kill you with e-logs. Once you start that 14 hr clock, it doessnt stop unless you show a full break. This is why I just left Butler Transport. I wasnt making any money with all the sitting for free that I was doing.

If I sit, I get detention. Fixes that problem real quick - one way or the other. But yeah... if you end up with the wheels not moving more than they are, you've got a problem.

OTOH, think about it. What is different with elogs over paper in this situation? Its not the elogs - its the driver falsifying his log book to make up for shipper/receiver inefficiency.

funny how after sitting for seven hours on a live load my morning preplan suddenly took just five minutes instead of ten so i can get to the nearest truckstop.

Sitting in Memphis right now. Put my truck in the shop here this morninng for a number of ongoing issues that I think may finally get resolved...I hope. After a few hours I went to check on the progress. Found out it was at the PM shop getting the new QC first. Got mixed emotions about that, but I guess there is nothing I can do about it. It is what it is. Was told there is a training video on the kiosk so I will check that out. Hope they get the rest of the issues taken care of tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath. One problem may have to go to the dealer.

you still driving the Shaker? Hopefully Mark is running the shop over there today. He will listen to you. And answer your questions. I like him.

The mechanic that works on the left of the service desk is really good. Hi name escapes me at the moment.

Yep. Still got the Shaker. They are gonna have to fire me to get me out of it! Lol. I talked to Matt. His name tag on his shirt says supervisor so he seemed to be the right one to talk to. He seemed fine with everything I brought up until I got to the regen problem. It took a little convincing to get him to actually think outside the box. When ever you mention regen, everyone focuses on just that. They don't think that it can be affected by outside influences. Will see what they do with it later today.

Sorry about the hi-jack. Please carry on....

Hey Rug, your buddy Mark? Arse! Listens just like everyone else. He's been doing this for 25 years and what I'm saying just isn't possible because HE has never seen it before. The engine fuel injectors has no effect at all on engine operating temperatures, and engine operating temperatures has no effect on the regen system. They are completely unrelated systems and one cannot affect the other. So I guess that mechanic that actually took the time to do the research and testing and found the problem that no one else could and actually fixed this other drivers truck was totally wrong.
