Heck It is to the point now where you see these idiots with there fog lights on while driving in the city! I gave up a long time ago flashing anybody for any reason.
-
Only lights I worry about are the disco lights that are coming up on my ###.....
-
Don't stare at the lights! It's easy - you shouldn't be looking over there in the other lane anyway! My night vision isn't what I'd like it to be, so when I drove, I did my best to get all my driving in from 0400/0500 until supper time. Also gave me time for exercise, a sit down meal, and those other things I tried to do to make this as close to a regular job as I could.
That said, when I do drive at night, I use my foglights, and my highbeams when no one is around. As a driver, you put up with lots of conditions on the road... traffic, dumb 4-wheeler drivers, big overhead lights, etc... I just deal with lights from other people as I have to, and use the trick I learned when protecting my night vision while in the field in Panama, Honduras, etc... don't look directly into the light! -
Fog light's are Yellow, :smt017 these other light's that the automaker's are calling fog light's are just driving light's.
Native Dancer, corneileous and snafutoo Thank this. -
Nope I was at speed limit and got a wrecked car and a concussion But no ticket. LOL

That because if the road is wet and the light hits the ground it comes right back to the oncoming drivers eyes. If you are one of the lucky ones that is not hurt by this glare "yet" drive a few more years. There are many of us that can not stand the glare, may be its our eyes or age, but if it keeps us from doing what we like to do to make a living it is a major problem.
kklogger Thanks this. -
Who's post are you referring to? If it was mine.
First off you don't know if the ground was wet at these time or not. And most times it wasn't.
If you look to the top right of this post, you will see that I've got over 20 years on the hwy 12 more than you. So what does that mean?
I see driving lights on all the time, mostly on these new pickup trucks. But it still doesn't make driving a MAJOR problem either. Just don't stare at the lights.
Sometimes on a divided hwy with a football field of space between the lanes I will turn on my "little" and I do mean little driving lights so I can see in to the shoulder a little better. And I know my lights are NOT going over to the other lanes, yet I'll get flashed first with the driving lights on their truck (no pain) then they add the High-beams (still no pain) because they are so far away. So even though the light is NOT in their eyes, but ONLY because mine are on are they flashing me & getting all upset.corneileous Thanks this. -
So you too have noticed that the new pick up trucks seem to have brighter low beams than anything else's high beams. I thought there was limits on how bright lights could be.
TheHealthyDriver and kklogger Thank this. -
A lot of the new cars even have super bright low beams. Drives me nuts!
