CW: I know I am gonna have to some day, but I don't wanna :biggrin_2554:

We did city driving downtown by the capital building area today and did our backing tests. I went through it with flying colors...lost a few more today due to failure of these tests tho. This goes to show that they do not hand you a CDL...they do make you do the minimum for the state of UT. That being said: We all still have SO MUCH to learn I just really hope I get a trainer that actually trains me and doesn't just try to help me for a week and then treat me as his other team driver.

We have the driving test tomorrow and that will be the final obstacle.

Well, I finished all requirements to get my CDL for the state of UT. I passed my road test (looks like we lost at least one, maybe two today) and I go to pick up my CDL on Monday.

We have a trip planning class all day tomorrow and then orientation for the driver training program Mon-Wed of next week!!! I am excited and very relieved. I just really hope I get a trainer that will train me and not just treat me as a 2nd seat or co-driver. I really want to hit all the milestones on the training checklist and make sure I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING before they turn me loose.

It was - also he didn't pressure me to do anything I felt uncomfortable with - he actually enjoyed night driving, so did most of it. There were a few times that I woke up EARLY and started driving while dark, but I was freshly rested and that helped. He mostly used the GPS for getting the time it would take us - but that is the nice thing about being a L/O - not having to follow the company fuel and drive routing. I'm sure I will run into situations that we didn't come across during training - but what is nice is that I feel comfortable enough to call him and ask. I hope you get one just as good as I had. My husband had the polar opposite of mine, unfortunately, but that is a story for another time...

Had map reading and trip planning today. They have a big homework assignment for us to plan a very specific trip from NY to San Diego, CA with multiple stops, take notes of weight stations, plan best fuels routes/stops, etc, etc, etc...

It a little more that I thought it would be to be honest.

I have attached a pic of us on break and what we do to keep entertained.
