No, we're strictly Arkansas and contracted to one gas company.

Jim, I get more exercise now than when I did long haul. I'm not snacking all the time. If we're running "pipe line" (back and forth from the sand plant), we're actually staying pretty busy...just not going very far.

    Gotta go.

I'd have to agree with you with your statement of, "that's how trucking is...some cos are for some drivers and not for others." If you have no experience whatsoever in the flatbed industry, Maverick's orientation, securement and minimum 21 days with a driving instructor is alot better than some cos show me your cdl, sit in class for a day and here's the keys to the truck.

I always have my cb on and respond when spoken to but not when cussed at, ie: "get the ##$% outta the way Maverick.

Multiple people have asked for what company you are driving because it seems to work for you yet you have not responded for whatever reason. Please feel free to pm me and let me know if you wish or better yet, Let other drivers know whom you're driving for now because if they are trying to get an informed decision on which company they should hire on with perhaps the company you are working for would be more suitable for them.

What I type next is not meant to be derogatory towards you but alot of drivers lack specifics when they express their opinion about Maverick with the most popular reason why they did not like working for maverick being "no miles" and or "didn't get me home like they said they would" Might you and any other driver who quit maverick and reads this be a bit more specific and answer the following ?s: what area of the country you live? How long did you work at Maverick? exactly how many miles did you get per week? and how many times were you hung out?

I would appreciate it and I'm sure other drivers that read in this thread while deciding which company to apply to would too.

    Be safe out there

AC was somewhat like that with me the 1st time i met him at HQ infront of mama k's desk. said his piece and walked out. I was like wtf? Mama K explained he was like that to everyone so now when i see him, i do like i suggested to you just give it right back to him just as loud as he does if not louder.....than wink at him and see if he can keep from smiling. lol

congrats on your 1st solo load. some words of advice, like you said, read all signs posted and also ASK the person in the shipping office if you need to take a tag off the coil.

Some of the steel mills when you scale in will ask you, "ever loaded here before?" if you respond yes, they'll hand you papers or whatever and tell you what door. I still do it to this day when they ask me I tell them yes its been a while though so would you tell me where that door is? Most have easy to follow pre preinted directions they will hand you if you tell them you've never been there before or answer as i do. KEEP THEM and when you go back to load there, voila!, you already have them.

Bravo on asking for help from others at the yard. Never be afraid to tell anyone you're new or never loaded that product before and dont forget the 24 hr securement number is always available if other drivers aren't

Want some cheese with that whine. Again you spout off without giving any details. Not our fault you didn't make the grade or should I say couldn't make the grade.

Happy to inform my Maverick brothers I will be returning to flatbed work on Monday 3-21-11. Will still be with Ruan and home everyday. Be careful out there. Jim, Don't worry about AnchorClanker his bark is much worse than his bite. TreeStand aka HoosierHunter

oh yeah, the old "left the tag on the coil and tarped it" trick....you only do that one once, LOL!
I almost always leave on Sunday, that way you don't burn up your 11/14 too quick on Monday trying to deliver the first load of the week. That way, your setting yourself up to get home easier the following weekend (sometimes).

Where did you think that gas came from? :biggrin_25523:

Frac-ing a well is alot like a travelling carnival. We finished up one well yesterday morning. CalFrac already had the sand chiefs in place for the next so we did a pre-fill for it. That well starts up in the morning so today was a repair hoses, wash trucks and see how much maintenance we can get done in one day. Those old Pumpkin trucks may look good on the outside but they run almost 24/7 and on alot of bad roads. I'm off Wednesday and Thursday this week.
