Superior does not have a central dispatch set up. You are dispatched on a load from your home terminal. After unloading you are then dispatched from the closest terminal from where you delivered. That terminal also has drivers based there.

Its supposed to be first in first out but doesn't usually work that way.

I agree ,what I was saying is that I here guys in Markham b#### all the time about sitting and short runs. We do a lot of dedicated which as you know is the out and back. What I have seen is they do a real good job of getting you out in the right direction to get home. That can not be said about many trucking companies. I for one have found a home and will retire here, I hope!!

People are usually in a bad mood when they are in Markham :biggrin_25523:. Half of the "dispatcher favoritism" you hear whining about is simply luck of the draw. I got a crap load to Yonkers NY for this week after sitting all last week at home.

Got tankwashed to Keasbey, and bobtailed to Paulsboro NJ yesterday. Today I am loading in Chestertown Md with a load heading to Santa Anna Ca.

View of GW bridge from Yonkers WWTP. This place sits out in the river.

I hear ya, That is why I stay out of the drivers room. We have been talking about putting up a sign, NO B####ing here, take it out to your truck. That is a cool pic and a nice load going to cali. I got to bail out a Westville driver monday and go to VA. I ended up at Greer with a load going to Kankakee Friday, dropped early and went home. BE SAFE

    You be safe too

    04/02/11

Just checked into the Days Inn right behind the Pilot with 30 minutes left on my 70. Went from High Point NC to Yonkers to Paulsboro NJ, to Chestertown Md then out to California.

Load delivers at noon on Monday and I am already preplanned with a back haul from LA to Little Rock Ar. I will pick up 16 hours on this reset and my turn around isn't too bad. I am spotting the tank at Ashland Monday after washout and pulling it out Tuesday at 1300. Sometimes they get it ready early.

Delivery appointment is Saturday though so it will mean some more layover pay if they won't let me deliver it early.

This Days Inn is pretty nice. I would let my family stay here and that is not something I would always say about hotels with truck parking. They have around 50 full sized spots for tractor trailers. Also the laundry is $1.00 a load. Good option for drivers wanting to reset in a hotel in Ca

Yeah. I just realized I never mentioned the city I am in. Its the Days Inn in Barstow exit 179 on I-15 where all the truck stops and outlet malls are.

My unload in California went well. Washout at LA Tankwash took less time than normal and I had the tank spotted at Ashland early enough Monday to pick up another 5 hours of layover pay. I headed back east with it Tuesday afternoon.

There was plenty of time on this load heading to Jacksonville Ar. I ran it hard anyway and managed to get it delivered a day early. The Memphis terminal turned me around real quick Friday with a drop/hook preloaded trailer heading to Richmond Va. I am sitting with it now at Whites on I-81. It delivers Monday at 6 AM so I will collect another 12 hours of layover.

Hopefully they will send me home Monday. I was a little disappointed not to get one of the Greensboro loads that would have gotten me home Saturday. I could have run this load to our terminal and gone home but with the extra unpaid couple of hours driving and my commute wouldn't have had time to do anything and would have had to leave at 1 am Monday morning to make my delivery on time. Whenever I get home next week I don't plan to go back out until the 18th.
