how old do you need to be for btc to hire you?

 

Age requirement is 21.

 

Does BTC have elogs or are they still paper logging. I thought they were paper logging, but after seeing some posts here and there sounds like they are starting with Elogs.

 

The newer trucks have eLogs, the Macks and the Internationals do. Very few of the Freightliners are getting eLogs put in, and the rest are paper logs.

 

Whats your opinion on those Elogs mike. They easy to use, are they better than paper logging.

 

I have used both.

Pros to eLogs:

It literally takes 15 seconds to do your log for the whole day. Maybe a minute if you have to edit some on duty/sleeper time. More time driving, less time logging.

You don't have to worry about your log violations with the DOT. Most DOT/bears don't even want to look at the #### thing, let alone check it.

There is less stress while driving when figuring time available...

Cons of eLogs:

...figuring time available because you have no choice but to stop when the little light turns red. 20 miles from home or not.

It can't be cheated. You can't unplug it, you can't pull the fuse and drive...you can't.

I look at it like this, they are here, so why get all stressed over it?

It leads to companies having to increase pay to good (CSA points) drivers. I have already gotten a $.04/mile raise.

 

I already got a raise from E-Logs.

 

Is there any leeway with Elogs. Let's say you are headed home, to a truck stop or your next stop and get stuck in traffic. After your time is up are you allowed a certain time or mileage to get to a safe spot?

 

Can anyone explain what the required testing, physical fitness test, is like? Don't want to go to orientation if i'm likely to not make it cause of blood pressure or something. Thanks.

 

well i have quit smoking and looking to straighten out my life and i just got my cdl i can pass a pi** test with no problem but i would like to know if builders transportation does a hair test so i know if i have a fighting chance to get hired in their can anyone help me out
