I would like some real up to date info on how hunt transportation treats their drivers. There hasnt been any update on them lately and I dont consider new drivers to the flat bed side of trucking that reliable.

If any of you experienced drivers have been at hunt trans for a while, let me know how it is there

I currently work for Hunt and have been here for six months. I live in Waukee(Des Moines) Ia so I get through the house a lot more than others. When I came to Hunt I never pulled a flat, but I spent a week with Jim the local driver and picked up a lot. The rest I learned out here. We also just got a pay raise so I now get $.41 cpm so I am happy about that. We haul mostly machinery and stuff like that. The main customers are John Deere, Case, Valmomt, Nucor, Rocky Mtn Steel, and Thurston Manufactoring, to name a few. I am not a recruiter, just a happy driver, in fact my initials are MM and my truck number is 75391 if you want to verify it with company. We are part of the Crete family and only time we deal with them is for terminal use and breakdown, otherwise Omaha does everything else. Here are some numbers for my first 6 months:
    I hauled 64 loads
30 were drop and hook 47%
    Ran 57,269 paid miles
    Average of 9544 miles a month/ 2386 a week
895 miles for a average length of haul
    had 25 hometime days
    16 loads were tarped 25%
This was also the slow time of the year and I still was busy and home a lot, and right now I have been out 6 days and already out of hours. Picked up in Valley, Ne and went to Pasco, Wa then reloaded in North Bend, Wa going to Burlingtion, NJ. Was also a drop and hook load and also 3217 miles. So think what you want, but I make a good living here and enjoy the different type of freight we haul.

That sounds like something a recruiter would say.

    I mean really, it does.

Yea it sure does? Just like some how some preaches that a certain lease deal is out of this world the greatest.

What "certain lease deal" might that be? Since you quoted me, I'm guessing that this was for me, but I'm a little confused, because I've never actually said which "certain" carrier I contract with.

I also never said that anyone's lease deal was great, just that it was a way to get a new truck. If one has actually read what I said, I did not recommend lease for a solo op, unless one's priority is to make a sacrifice to obtain a new truck.

I do happen to know that leasing can work for a husband/wife team, an unattached person starting out, or for a person with a spouse who has an income, under some circumstances. We can speak intelligently on that subject if you wish, but if all you want to do is get the best of me, intellectually, then I surrender. You are a genius, and I am an idiot. I'm well aware of that, and still I can't resist the temptation to open my big mouth. I guess it's a flaw in my personality.

Hopefully you feel a little better about yourself now. I think it's important to respect yourself, even if you don't respect anyone else.

No sorry I am not a recruiter, I actually drive truck 75391 and currently on a load from PA to In, so if you see me buy me a cup of coffee, and the recruiter is Barb, and I am not sure if they hire out of Utah, you would have to ask at 888-228-9685. I just actually like my job here and they keep me busy. Just got done with a 3217 mile load from Washington to Jersey.
