I have two words for you "Workmans Comp.!!!"
-
and if you feel your being the least bit jerked around get a lawyerDiesel Dave Thanks this.
-
I'm going through the lawyer to get my comp from an injury that I got from my previous employer. It kinda sucks cuz it can take a long time to get whats coming to me! And possibly a need for surgury!
-
Some states have time limits on when you file the paperwork for your injury. Mine was 72 hours. W/C will try their best to follow the law the cheapest way they can. -
well when i went to the hospital i filed and LNI claim but i dont think it's gone through yet and it's been 2 weeks since my accident but i heard it takes about that long for it to go through. Im not too sure if im gonna wanna do deliveries for them after this maybe work in their warehouse or something so hopefully ill get something good out of this

They should pay you something for lost wages and I hope your medical bills have been taken care of too. If not then you may have a problem and calling your compamy medical doctor would be where you can get information. Or the better way would be to call the state W/C office and ask them where's your claim. They will know.
Big Don Thanks this. -
ok thanks gashauler

Ahhhh that is too bad kenworth. Whatever you do, make sure that you are covering yourself on this. If there is any hint of problems, either with the company, or with workers comp, get hold of a scumbag, uh I mean lawyer, pronto.
I can tell you first hand, that a lot of these wc insurers will screw you over if they possibly can.
Added thought:
Tib/fib injuries can come back and haunt you at a later time. It really might be in your best interest to just go ahead and get a workers comp lawyer now. . .(and I REALLY HATE to have to say that.)Last edited: Apr 1, 2011

If anyone jacks you around, contact the state workers comp board. They are there for you and will get things done. I hurt myself once in IA and I got jacked around. I contacted the state and they sent them a letter, take care of this man or pay a $10,000 fine. They paid my bills then.
Not only are you protected by workers comp laws, you are protected by ERISA and have 12 weeks of guaranteed employment under the Medical Leave Act. They might make you do light duty office work like sit in a corner and sharpen pencils which is within their rights if the doctor says okay.
Some companies are good about injuries. Others will try to beat you. That's when you get a lawyer and a new pickup truck!
Hurry up and heal!
