Some people just have a knack for getting organized and its needed in trucking , others cannot decide what foot to put the right boot on in the morning.

 

Well when your stuck at a meat plant waiting on a load, that's when your able to have free time to do what you need to get done.

 

That is beyond sux... it totally blows. Some of these packing plants are way out in the stix - and a couple of days in Garden City KS, Lexington NE, Beardstown IL, Ottumwa IA, Plainview TX - is enough to send you straight out of your nut! Especially if you can't move that tractor without going on line 3 - there goes an opportunity for a restart.

Yikes!

 

How does Prime handle that?

 

There was a mix up with that load, it went to a Knight driver. But they found me a load right away with almost the same miles so I am headed to Madison, GA.

 

Every plant in your post is tyson or cargill. Lexington, ne has a walmart across the street and a ton of food choices, the only ones in the sticks are ottumwa,ia and beardstown. Ilike the truckstop down the in garden city good restaurant. All this talk about meat plants is making me miss pullin a reefer.

 

As for jbs plants in the sticks I'd say plainwell,mi cactus,tx and marshalltown,ia. Now that's not where I would wanna be stuck for a restart if I can't drive

 

The packing plant in Lexington NE is well over 5 miles from the Walmart.

 

At one of the packing plants... you'd probably be BT - go to line 5 and take care of what you need to do. Laundry, dinner, movie, baseball game. Just make sure you're logging on-duty on the way back to pick up the trailer. That's the same deal for company, lease and owner-operators.

The only real restriction is for company drivers while BT at one of our terminals - they can't drive for personal conveyance any longer because of some unfortunate incidents. Management had enough, thus the restriction.
