Where do you get your physical's done? Do you renew them at your company physician or somewhere else? It must be a company thing then I assume to do a drug screen when renewing your physical, because in 11 years I've never been drug tested when getting my physical renewed.

Either way I believe the guy that originally asked the question probably can't pass it. IMO if you have to ask questions regarding drug testing it's usually because your dirty.

I've gotten them at various places over the years. It is possible that every company I've worked for did require that. I never really looked into it.

Yeah, it did sound like he's a bit panicky about the drug test. I'd say tell the company you had a really bad toothache and popped a couple vicodin to take the edge off. You won't pass a drug test with that in your system but you can't really be blamed for it either. If the company has let you run this long without the med card, which they shouldn't have done, they might let you slide on the test.

Just don't get caught without that card. It's not worth it to drive without one. And whatever you were really doing to make you possibly fail a drug test, quit it.

Howdy I am wondering if ya could clear up any DOT rules about the 3/4 ton pickups out there delivering the Travel Trailers to dealers all across the states .? Once the Travel Trailer is delivered at the Dealer does the Pickup have to Log his/her duty time going back empty to get another travel Trailer if it is a 3/4 ton Pickup? Or does the rules only to Vehicles over 10,000 unladen weight ??

The rules apply to GVWR of 10,001 lbs or more.

    No.

It is a bit more complicated than that.

The FMCSA told me that a vehicle such as yours requires a log book when it is loaded.

When returning, the driving is not required to be logged, but the driver is to log on duty, not driving and is not subject to an 11 hour day like when loaded.

Easiest thing to do. Run as loaded.

Thank you for your help . I was hoping that I could save some logbook hours each week by not having to log my empty drive time is all . Looks like I will just keep doing it the way I have been so far . So I don't have to stay with the 11 drive day but still stick to the 14 hour day . ? Once I am empty I am still concidered a Commercial vehicle even if there is no outside eveidence that I am a commercial vehicle ?

The rules only apply to a vehicle with a gvwr of 10,001 lbs.

You only exceed that when you have a trailer on.

Look at the door on the drivers side. If the truck is under this amount, you are not a commercial vehicle.

So Even with a trailer on since My GVWR is rated under 10,000 I don't have to run a log book ?? Now I am really confused lol

Add 1 and 1 together to get 2.

If your truck is 9900 lbs and the trailer is 10,000 lbs, it comes to 19,999.
