Good Luck. I don't know anything about GTI. I am heading out to Roehl Transport in Wisconsin on July 2nd for school. My husband already drives for them. We are going to team.

    Hey there.

I worked for GTI for a year back in 2005. As a team you are in a great position to make the miles and the money.

GTI as a company is good on the a scale of (Horrible, bad, okay, good, Awsome) Their pay scale is towards the top, but not the top. Their dispatch is great for teams. So so for regional. And Heavy hall NW is um, satisfactory.

You will have to stand up for yourselves with your driver manager. You will have to tell them no from time to time. Please protect your licenses.

If you were willing to show a company that you'd relocate, I'd skip Gordon and head for someone like Crete. Better pay. But have a great run and keep me updated. Have any questions about orientation, driver training, ect. shoot them to me.

according to thier respective websites - for teams, Gordon actually pays a bit more than Crete. (Neither are particularly high cpm's for teams though.)

And they're mostly going to be out there in those 'big square states,' which is, in my opinion, a much better deal than Crete's "80% east of the mississippi" business.

A good friend of mine has been with GTI for 1 1/2 years, and most of the time seems reasonably sane. He drives an hourly, local route for them now, and does ok.

But the truth, as I see it anyway, is that there isn't a nickles worth of difference in any of these big outfits (which Gordon is.) Expect the unexpected, and much of the time, the unpleasant.

The important thing is that Gordon is convenient to you, and it's a start.

Im Scheduled to be in Pacific on Tue Aug 21st for orentation. What can i expect as far as training?. I live in portland and im told that I'll be in pacific for 2 to 3 days. then ill go home and wait for a call from my trainier. How are the trainers? Are they pretty good about matching newbees with ideal trainer? (i.e.: non-smoker since i dont smoke?) Once i get the call I'll head out for up to a month of training. Then it sounds like i'll have one final drive test to pass and then i get assigned my truck. After 4 to 5 days off im then on my own as a solo driver. THis is what the recruter tells me but i know they like to candy coat. Is this what i should expect for training?
