Talk to Reid Ransom...personnel director....if you are willing to leave a vehicle in BRF then mention that....if you don't need a lot of home time, then mention that.
Criteria is specific for the recruiters and they are going through several hundred apps a day so yes if you live out of the hiring area then they are trying to move on. I've worked with Alice for many years and she has always bent over backwards for students....once again that meet those specific criteria.
Sorry that your first experience with Millis left this kind of impression, it is absolutely nothing personal.
Oh...and she's not old.

I would also concur that alice is usually great to deal with, must be a bit overloaded.
Zangief Thanks this. -
I echo Greg's comments. I had Alice as my recruter when I applied. I was rushed also - but that is the nature of the beast in trucking due to the expected numbers of apps and phone calls they get each day.
When I called I first said hello to her and asked about her day before I didnt anything else. Somehow it worked and she slowed down to talk to me. I was so impressed with her efforts after that I bought her flowers when I went to BRF after I was hired and hand delivered them to her. Just to say thanks.
They are all taxed to the limit with freight rolling in so they may be a little edgy at times. It's not the norm!Zangief Thanks this. -
Thanks very much for the advice everyone! I'll take Greg's advice and give Reid Ransom a call tomorrow morning.
No worries when it comes to Alice. I know how it gets when you're really busy. After a couple decades in sales, I've just conditioned myself never to accept the first "no". LOL. When I talk to Alice again I'll be sure to schmooze with her as much as time permits.

Here are a couple more questions for you guys. I was reading in one of the other Millis threads that the company doesn't really worry about it if the drivers don't keep accurate log books.
Question 1: Is Millis a company that lets their drivers be "creative" in keeping their logs?
Question 2: Does Millis ever encourage, or try to push their drivers to run illegally to get the loads to the destination on time?
I'm hoping this is not the case. Some guys might make a little more money running illegally, but to me it's not worth breaking the law - even a little bit, just to make a few extra bucks. -
I am fairly confident both of the questions are incorrect, although I am only going to be a student you might want to confirm with somebody who knows for sure.
-
NO and HECK NO! Already using e-logs in some trucks, can't cheat them. Millis is a good honest company that wants good honest drivers, they are very family oriented. Most of the guys that I have met would not run illegal. That is a good way to lose your job.

There ya go!

yep that is true you will log legal as you do it. even on elogs if you can go over your hours for driving but you better had good reason why. if you cant make a delivery because of hours just let dispatch know and they will let you know what to do.
Zangief Thanks this. -
They have printed on the log books- summarized- if you don't log legal we'll terminate you and we check fuel receipts and tolls to verify you comply.
Zangief Thanks this.
