You modern new breed drivers are a bunch of namby pambies. If it gets too hot in the sleeper, perhaps you could sling a hammock up under the shade of your trailer hmmm?
And your vast expereience warrants that commentI have done the hammock deal , was not that bad , but then there was no A/C in the trucks at all.
My drivers are allowed to idle ( couple older trucks without APUs rest have APUs ) to suit their comfort needs UNLESS RESTRICTED or its THE LAW ,be it the customer , city , state ecte.Irondog, Giggles the Original, Les2 and 2 others Thank this. -
scottied67 and punkinhed Thank this.

My batteries seem to stay charged when I watch TV and run all of my accessories (TV, Computer, interior lights, refrigerator) with my truck shut off...I have to start it and run it for a couple of hours if I sit more than 3 days though.Lonesome Thanks this. -

if it was me, i would idle anyway
the worst they can do is fire me...rather be fired then dead of a heat stroke, or to be that hot all the time -
its not about the environment to me, its about the company...they pay over $4 a gallon for diesel fuel right now and some drivers just couldnt care less...if it was the driver buying the fuel, he wouldnt idle any more then he had toSouthpaw7391, Lonesome and Licensed to kill Thank this. -
When my ex was running with me, I wouldn't fire the truck up until it was below about 40°. By myself, a little warmer. When you pay for the fuel, you don't idle unnecessarily. Above about 75°, or so, and I'm running the A/C. I can't sleep when it's hot. Now, if I can get a decent breeze, I'll shut it off and sleep with the screens in.

In the past week, I have had to idle for one night. Was nice and peaceful not listening to that rumble. Even my dog has more energy sleeping with the motor off.
My two complaints? I have no vent up high to expell the pent-up heat. (Heat rises....DUH, International engineers!) And when the lot has been so peed as to make my eyes water by opening the window.
