Oh we hit the traffic on the way out!! These were taken at about 6am Sunday morning... needless to say we got to our 99 WAY early - LOL! That was fine though - Gary got 8 hours in the sleeper and we will be getting 5 hrs detention. Our appt time was 1000 and we didn't get out of there until 1700!! Now if they just come through with it... the previous DM of Gary's never did.

Truth is you got way lucky... unless they close the bridge traffic like you encountered just doesn't happen often - even at 6am on sunday

They don't give out samples any more?

Here is a funny story for you:
This Hershey plant had a 55 gallon drum near the shipping desk and you could help yourself. They had hershey's kisses with almonds, as I think they were a new promotion. That's right-- a 55 gallon drum!

I grabbed a handful when they gave me my paperwork and I ate them while I was in my truck filling out my logbook so I could leave. That left me wanting more so I ran back in:
"Did I leave my copy of paperwork here with you?"
    "No you didn't, driver"
"My mistake" And I took another handful and left.

Well. . . I had to answer 2 messages on my qualcomm, and I ate the second handful and was craving even more.

This time she saw me coming back, and she had a ziplock baggy of the Hershey's Kisses waiting for me!!!!

    Good times.

Last night we spent the night at Big Springs NE. I80 was closed because of Ice, snow etc..
It was opened at about 2pm this afternoon.
We are now on our way to Dayton, OH.
Just pasted ext 270 and we are running into rain/snow/slush.... with high winds...

Yeah, weather is tough. It was only 81 degrees in Phoenix last night when we fueled at 9:30 PM

ya... and now some planner just tried to send us to WI to repower a load. It would have taken us right back into the storm....
Needless to say, it got turned down.

I brag about Phoenix but we are on a load from San Diego to Quincy Massachusetts. I suspect I will have to put away my flip flops soon.

Well I finally got some time w/the computer :) Oh don't get me wrong - I've been on the computer some, but with the truck moving, I do just what I have to do - and reading/typing isn't one of them... just bills and bookkeeping (yuck!!) So we are at Cummins in CO while they fix a leaky/bad EGR valve and using their internet :D

So far - I'm liking the 'life style' for the most part. I do miss showering as often as I want and in a shower that I KNOW is clean. Or stumbling out of bed to the bathroom without the bright lights, loud music and having to get dressed. However the 'adventure' is still a good one, and the time w/my husband is precious!

We finally got the inverter problem worked out - so now we just might be able to KEEP food in the fridge - and might be able to use the microwave. THAT will be nice. Still working on 'organizing' the inside of the truck... I think I just have too much 'stuff' - LOL!

We now have a DM that I think is going to really work out well... I like her :D needless to say - they did unassign us from this current load (going to MI) but that doesn't break my heart any - I would really like some warmer weather!! Sigh... give me a couple months of heat though, and I'll be craving cooler weather - LOL!

Sorry for jumping around on the info here - but trying to fit in a couple weeks worth of info scatters my brain waves - LOL!

Oh we have been trying the 8/3 driving pattern... it concentrates more on 'sleeper' time, than driving time. It's a work in progress, but I think I like it. It cuts the shift so I'm not driving for SO long - and keeps the truck moving... its a variation of the 8/2 - but works for team drivers.

Mmm - lets see what else is there - <______> - yeah can't think of anything right now... I will though as soon as I get back on the truck - LOL!

    Wedge Thanks this.
