got to Winslow at the J last night. sent a message to my DM...only 2100 miles last week.
Get a call to repower a load headed to LA.
I'm tired. Get the info, went back to truck, found a leak in the fuel filter of my trailer.
    Diesel everywhere.
Call RR. We won't go into all that.
But while waiting for someone to come replace the filter and clean up the diesel, put all my trips together and scanned them.
    That's when I re added.
    Had 3100 miles.
Guess I should stay away from numbers when I'm that tired.
Got this load to Port of LA where I'm sitting in the door now.
Then off to the Ontario TA where I hope to get some sleep for a change.

Sitting in Encinal tonight, dropping at a forwarding reciever in Laredo manana.Austin was as bad as Ive ever seen today.Took me one and a half hrs to move 8 miles.I felt like I was in L.A.Well at least I wont have to worry about mother and any compression on this day.Dropped studenr off earlier today.Think Im gonna keep the truck to myself for a few weeks.I need a break. Its hard enough watching out for myself much less a co-driver.Turnin and burnin, everyone be safe.

    Never made it to Ontario.
Decided to go south to San Diego. Further, but faster. was sort on time.
Trying to drive from the port to Ontario in the middle of the rush hour would nearly take a fresh 11!
So had dinner with my son and his wife.
    Good choice on my part.
    Better than the TA.
Pick up tomorrow in Central Cali, then off to Wisconsin with a 4 drop nursery load.
Hope I get to keep the load. 2800 miles.
It was originally scheduled for PU today, but didn't get the assn until tonight.
    Almost like produce,eh?

I'm an O/O and wanted to know if I was to work for them would I be able to be a trainer. Also would they favor the company and L/O trainers with the miles and give me the leftovers. Need to know if its worth my time to switch from one training company to another.

there are more and more O/O with Stevens. As for training, you need to speak with them about it.
I've spoken to quite a few O/O's with Stevens, and they tell me they get the miles.
They favor those people that get the job done.

Sooner or later. Not right away. Seems not to matter if O/O, L/O or company, only matters how you get along with your manager and how well you do things like p/u and deliver on time, early when feasible, take care of the trailers and loads and customers, and run legal.
You'd think a company would favor the L/O on their program, but it doesn't and really can't work that way. The managers pick from the same ever-changing pool of loads. So it's up to what your guy gets and where you are when he has to assign or if you can be near there at the right time more often than a question of who gets the loads. And then the manager has to worry about HOS, so he depends on his driver to keep that from being an issue he has to worry about. But you have to let them know when it does, before it is.
In a typing mood and on a good keyboard. lol
Running odd runs this week. My manager knows I like changes, not boring long-term routines, so I often go on oddball runs and one-offs. This week I saw two new rail yards, or rather, went to two of the oldest rail yards in Chicago. One dates back to 1888 at that location when half of it was dedicated to horse teams and wagons. LMAO Google rocks.
Anyway, will be picking up a full trailer of marshmallows in the morning going to the familiar brand new and easy to use rail yards outside Chicago. But then I pick up next load in downtown Chicago. Bleh. At a place notorious for being behind. Maybe I'll be in Columbus tomorrow night, if I'm lucky.\
    After that, who knows.
3,111 miles last week. 8 runs, all drop and hooks but one load and drop, paid for 2,891 miles. 6.6MPG on mostly 44,000lbs loads. Sweet spot usually at 61 with fifthwheel clear back.
This week I got to tuck that fifthwheel up for 210 deadhead miles and got 8.1 Makes me wonder what I could of got if it wasn't windy as heck.
Anyway, keep your wheels warm and your produce cool. Or should that be attitude cool? Keep your engine warm?

Just when I thought I was getting out of the northeast... lol.

Dropped in Bethleham PA, rushed to hershey PA to pick up. Trailer had some issues so got those fixed on the spot and ran with it. Got about 50miles out when I get the ever so popular "we need your help".
Repowered a load in greencastle that was due in west borough mass at 0300. No way I could make it on time but I got it here just in time for my 14 to run out. And before the arrived at final even went through pre-plan to brooklyn with a final in laredo. SWEEEEET!!!!

Just hope I can squeeze my hours some how to keep the load. :biggrin_25522:
