Man when I use to work for central transport these cheap mofo's would have us go out with pallets of batteries or brake parts and deliver them to stores with no dock and a liftgate that barely had enough room to put the pallet on , but when u got to a stop the liftgate barely held the weight and most of the time the pallet would fall off the liftgate because it would tilt down so u would have to recoop the skid and put it back on the truck because of course the cosignee would refuse it after seeing it fall . !!!!!!

    Yep, Sysco Cleveland.
His checks are big but Sysco is pretty much killing him over there.
    It's a Teamster barn, too.
I don't know how someone could retire at a job like that, except maybe from a disability standpoint.
My other buddy worked for House of LaRose in Brecksville...which was all budweiser beer.
He's in real bad shape right now...pin in his shoulder and two crushed discs.
Right now, he's waiting on a big settlement check due to his injuries.

Hey this freight game is no joke and that's why I'm trying to get out of it before it gets the best of me.

2 skids, 1 liftgate?? Scary. I suppose it depends on the liftgate...

My neighbor is a 20+ year sysco driver. The guy makes about 90K, but sheesh he works at 1am and peddles boxes all night. Makes my job seem pretty cushy but I'm not making any where near those dollars.

    FedEx is pretty good.
They pay overtime after 8/40 so they're not gonna work you like other outfits will.
I peddled freight there for 5 years...1 as a linehaul driver.
I got screwed in the merger...but stick with em' if you can...good outfit to work for.

Unfortunately it has already got the best of me with 2 blown knees that give me pain every day! if it wasnt for the money made per hours worked and the fact that i know what time approx. i will be home at night and the fact that bid run local drivers dont slip seat, i think i would have been gone already.

1 skid on a liftgate scared me 12 years ago, now 2 is no problem depending on the weight and weather conditions however you will never see me try it when the skids are over 1,000 lbs.
