being a trainer is not always easy some students you get may think they know it all before they step into your truck then you butt heads, cant just walk away when your traveling down the road.
That is so true with the ones I had to try and train..

This is the part about meat plants I hate. I'm 2 hrs and 15 min past my drop dead time. Why are they incapable of meeting their own windows?? Will admit that this doesn't happen to often but still..... Sitting at JBS's plant in Worthington, MN.

However, if you were just being an obnoxious racist, because of the color of the person's skin, or their primary language feel free to keep that to yourself.
Some of those "Mexicans" may just be here legally. -
Greeley is what is known as a "sanctuary city..." so is Denver. The political reality is that illegals are routinely released by the police for any and all things that don't require a felony arrest. There are plenty of employers along the front range who won't ask a lot of questions when it comes to I9 documentation, because they know they can pay seriously substandard wages - and get away with it. OTOH, the folks who are "benefitting" from this - the undocumentos aren't going to complain about labor practices that would be considered illegal in the wider community. There is also a healthy black market in forged identity credentials as well... every few years it seems as though someone either is arrested within the motor vehicle department for providing false identities, or there are thefts of blank license/id forms.
That's just the reality of life in front-range Colorado - no racism, its just the way things are. -
The Challenger Thanks this.

Using Harley's miles (and rounding up or down as appropriate)...
3500 mi / 54 mph average = 65 driving hours, or 6.5 days. 6 pre/post trips and say 5 fuel ups = 69.25 hours.
Totally possible with a STRONG work ethic and proper planning. Harleymax could have the mindset that I do.. if i'm gonna be out here im going to run. My PTA is always set to best optimize hours. If I unload and have 8 hours left to drive, my PTA is set for within 3 hours after my appointment time. I'll always set my PTA like that unless I have less than 2 hours or my 14 is almost out, then i'll set it out until the next day.. BUT message my DM asking if they have anything I can START rolling towards. That at least gets them thinking about me and 9 times out of 10 I get something. Thats where proper planning and proper communication comes in.. that and best using your hours. Thats the ONLY way to make elogs work in your favor to get those kind of numbers. I also believe firmly in leaving the left door closed.. which is why I have a reputation of being reliable and on time at my company. If i'm at the least not on time i'm always early! I say, Keep on truckin' Harley!
This is a great thread. My wife works at the main JBS building off of US34 scheduling appointments for outside carriers and she loves the company. With the price of fuel i've thought about hanging up my truck keys and becoming a company driver again, with JBS being one of 3 companies i'm eyeballing... JBS being one because we live 3 miles from the carriers building on 85. Nothing like having a terminal or headquarters near where you live! I just don't like the no rider/no pet policy. My boy loves to come out with me during the summers, and I have an old dog thats stubborn in his ways my wife isn't fond of and prefers I take him!Last edited: Apr 20, 2011
