Kinghunter.........I'm so proud of you for not giving up. I will tell you now that I think this is the best thing for you. I can only believe that this will make you a much better driver in the long run.
Dixie! So glad to hear from you girl! Seriously. I often wonder how it's going for you and well, your kind words came at just the right moment. I was just about to put on my sig line for people not to ask me for advice or information. I spent a lot of time helping someone and they just burned me big time. Thank you for reminding me that we help because we were helped.

Got most of my sections done overnight and got four hours worth of sleep. My bed never felt so good in my life. I passed out and woke up thinking I was energized. Finished my air brakes section. Now on combination's.

I was just thinking about how Swift compares to the others. When I got word I was being sent home, Swift did not throw me off their property like US Xpress did last January. Swift did not say I have five min to get off. I mentioned this to safety and he was surprised to hear this. Swift offered to get me a bus ticket home and my recruiter has gone to bat for me. The good is 99% and the bad is 1%.
I have yet to be screwed and I maintain a positiver outlook on it. There are times where we will be upset. I had one guy at orientation say the road tester back stabbed him. I talked to the safety guy and he explained why I failed. The other guy that failed never attempted to do this. If I can find out the problem, put together a solution, I am 75% there and prepared for the next test of this nature.
I'll mention his name. If the mods want me to remove it, I'll do it. Arkle is his name and he is a cool guy. If you do something wrong and he is your examiner for the road test, he will explain it. Another guy named Jim said it perfectly "It is his signature on a DOT government document". Both do not cut no corners, nor do they put up with BS. It's straight up: if you cant drive, you fail.
I did complete my modules and will my recruiter in Phoenix shortly. I need to pick out my bus schedule as well. Wisconsingirl, when you getting to Memphis?? Tazaa and I leave orlando at 815 Sat night.
In conclusion: I know why Swift is better than the others and why drivers stay there and move up.
KHSpacecoast, tazaaa, dixiedeadlight and 2 others Thank this. -

Ya'all settle down now, ya hear?
On a serious note here, I am glad things are working out for you. Keep us posted! -
I just called my recruiter and asked him about my bus ticket. I remember him saying early on I would be leaving Sat evening, and arriving in Millington,TN sometime around 1 pm Sunday. Gosh I can't wait!!The Challenger Thanks this. -
Alright, guys. You won't be at Millington for long. You will be going out with mentors after orientation. I'm referring you here:

To see my comments on that.
And try to not drive the instructors nuts at the academy. We don't need Millington shut down because all the instructors went to the funny farm.Last edited: Apr 20, 2011
