Well long story short, I ran hard for my boss, super illegal, cash paid for tolls, fuel, etc, 20+ hours alot days, over weight, you name the law I broke it for my job. I was only there just shy of 3 months. I requested a day off and he approved it, someone called asking for a job verification for a resume I had put in a place long before that the next day, so he waits until last night and tells me he isn't recognizing my day off anymore. I call in sick today, he fires me on the spot while flipping out on me. I made one phone call to a guy I knew was looking for drivers, I have my new truck assigned to me already and Ill be hauling coal by monday. My question is, should I try to report him to the DOT? will they audit him? He routed me around ALL scales (no matter if I had to take dirt roads with no bonds). I never got inspected once for his company, I wish they would sit down the road from the shop. He runs guys without CDL's in commercial trucks also, I just want to see him get what he has coming to him...![]()
I lost my job today.

Should you? Hard to say, you didn't have any problem doing what he asked you while you worked there. I would have had a problem working for the dude in the first place. For your own peace of mind I would run legal from this point forward if you intend on reporting your former employer.
TheLoadOut, BNR32, Wargames and 9 others Thank this. -
So......You break the law for him and for your own personal gain and now that you got fired for whatever reason, You wanna call the cops and turn him in? For things that you were perfectly willing to do?
That's pretty weak!
Man up and learn to live with lifes little twists and turns because you'll probably be doing the same stuff with your new employer and how will they feel about it if they hear that the minute that things went bad for you at the last place you busted out your little 911 finger?
Lifes short....Move on!FozzyNOK, TheLoadOut, mizdageeragn and 15 others Thank this. -
true story man, I guess being pissed off is better than pissed on. I like his Non-CDL driver that he has doing that CDL work, so I would hate to see get popped anyhow now that I think it through. Thanks guys, you know sometimes being mad can cloud up your judgment pretty quickly, I never was one for getting the law after someone, I just hope I get my last paycheck.
U4EA Thanks this. -
Now idk, but if your going to rat out your former employer, by not only acknowledging him running you illegal, you also admitting that you falsified on your logs too, with all knowledge of it? Its your name on that sheet, I would be worried about what legal action fall backs can come on you from this, idk, I'm too green to say.

My logs are straight, what are you talking about? Other drivers he has are much sloppier than I. I'm 100% decided agianst it now, I was just mad and needed some advice. I won't even have to keep a log at my new job anymore, I think I will miss flatbed work though

My question to you is, Do you want to be a sniveling little whiner like 80% of the rest of the people on these forums?
Just move on, get working your other job, and forget about it!biker dave, mizdageeragn, bbqguy and 3 others Thank this. -
I can't believe all the "professional" drivers sticking up for this sleaze bag company.
If the company's name was Swift or JB etc ya'll would be at the front of the line to scream bloody murder.
Of course the company should be ratted out. The folks that this company kill in a wreck could be your wife,
your kids, your mom, any one in your family or network of friends.
This company should be red tagged last week!
I can tell you that even tho you make the call its unlikely any thing will get done until its way too late.
