It more than likely is LL's and as a female pretty much all you have to do is slightly lower the window and let the "pretty young thing" see you. She will let her buddies know not to knock on your truck any more. The last one that asked if I wanted some company nearly killed herself getting off my truck. At least that's been my experience. Good luck out there.
How do I stop knocks on my door at night?

As others have said park near or under the lights, but in some places you may get bird bombed by crows, seagulls, etc!

Yeah. The tire thumper did raise a bit of concern.
Then I'd have responded accordingly. I've already made it quite clear where I stand on firearms, so could anything I've done in that situation possibly indicate what my assessment of the threat was?
I'm sure I did piss him off even worse. I've been sprayed with LE grade OC, and I know I wasn't exactly thrilled about that (especially considering it was simply a matter of me being in the wrong place at the wrong time which got me sprayed).
Not really. The guy was breaking a sweat walking five spaces over to my truck, when it was in the 30s outside. All I really had to do was walk and he'd have probably given himself a heart attack trying to keep pace with me. Again, it's not like I didn't make any assessment, whatsoever.
No, I really don't. As I'm sure you know, situations like this require judgment. I didn't feel particularly threatened by the guy, and I didn't care about the parking spot - I was able to back into the spot five spaces down from that one. What pissed me off was the manner in which he did it.
I didn't feel the threat justified the use of a firearm, and it's an instance where I didn't want to introduce the possibility of a firearm being used into the situation, and letting a parking spot quarrel escalate into something like that. In all honesty, the whole thing probably could've gone down without the guy even being sprayed, but I gave him ample warning - which he ignored - and, perhaps my curiosity as to effectiveness of the stuff may have played a minor role in my decision to use it, as I never had before - but I still wouldn't have done it had he backed off, or hadn't come at me brandishing a weapon.
So, yeah, I made my assessment, came to the conclusion that the situation didn't call for it, and really didn't feel like dealing with the legal complications which would've resulted from it, whether or not I had to actually pull the trigger.
Had I felt he posed a legitimate threat, then it would've been a different story.
I'm very well aware of this. It wasn't fear of having to pull the trigger which caused me to decide against it - it was my assessment that the threat wasn't significant enough to justify it, nor would it justify the legal complications which came along with it, least of all, in a not-so-gun-friendly state like Maryland.
