I cant get yall s responces off of here.?? But anyway crete told me the only hire out of one school here in Florida. Its 10 weeks $1800 at comm. college in Orlando Fl. But I'm trying to get a salliemae loan and that place not on there list, But the sage school in Lake City is on the salliemae loan, but the only have like 1 week in truck. Then theres National Truck School close by my house, They have home study and like 2-2 half wks in truck. Also you have to already have your permit and phy. etc. already at the 10wk and National, but the sage you do all that in there 3wk?? What do I do don t want to sign contract for a company school inless they good, I do want to work for same company 1-3 yrs anyway. I think I want to run flatbed to try not to blowup on the road(get fatter) What yall recomend?? Imight not even be able to see what yall say. How I fix that?? Thanks

You can go to the comm. college if you want it is alot cheaper than Sage I would try and get a grant from the Wia program it is through the local job service. I went to sage and the 1 week in the truck is plenty of time here is aprox what you get 3 days to prepare for the cdl permit, then you have about 1 1/2 weeks in classroom studying all of the rules and regs they show vidieos for the snow, brakes, pretrip, etc Then you get aprox 1 1/2 weeks in the range for your backing, parking manuvers, you will do road too after your first week in the range the road is aprox 1 1/2 weeks total is about 4-5 weeks in the Sage training. Just rember that no school will get you on the road without first going through yet more training by the company the school is only to get learn you enough to pass the tests Sage will practially beat the pretrip into your head you will be doing the pretrip every time that you go to the range no matter what you are there to do before you drive/move the truck the pretrip must be done no if ands or butts about it You will have aprox 3 weeks to learn it when I tested I missed only a few points on the pretrip it was stupid mistakes because I had mentioned everthing that was pertaining but forgot to mention one thing about the same part just another side of it and I mentioned about the air supply getting low and the air valves poping out forgot the warning light and buzzer. I am the kind of person that gets nervous when I am taking tests and miss up on some simple stuff. But the school told me that they had never seen a person only miss that few things on the pretrip most of the time students missed more. the backing/ manuvers test I only used 4 points on it pushed the nose of the trailer over the top of the cones and did not stop in the box for the bumper on the pull up and stop. I missed only a few minor things on the driving test. So needless to say I passed on my first try. I got my grant from the Wia program for sage so I did not pay anything. You have you decide what school that you want but never go to National.

    Hello:

I have a problem because Crete only hires driver school graduates. I can't afford their training because it is way too much and I can't do student loans because I have student loans to pay back, and to make things worse, my father was examined today and was told that he needs a triple by-pass operation for his heart! Wow!!! It's amazing how problems come as an avalanche! Well, I filled out an application with Roehl, I don't know if they hire in my area.
If getting back home is a problem, I can easily work in any terminal, and commute back home on my own. I like Roehl because it seems like a nice company to work for. I filled out an app. with Maverick but I had a problem because when I worked in real estate, we were paid commissions. However, in my case I made no money whatsover. So I have no W2s or W4s to prove any income made. It was the biggest flop of my life. I wish I never listened to my uncle's ideas about going into real estate. I should have studies the market a little further to see that the NY real estate market is good for nothing right now. So Maverick won't have me because of that 12 month discrepency.
I just now finished talking to a recruiter with Schneider National. They seem to be very interested in me. I have been offered their National Van division and their Regional Dedicated Division. I was told that I can make more money with the National division but get more home time with their regional division (whole east coast--2500/3000 miles). Right now, I have no choice and so far I am approved by Schneider. All I need now is to take the CDL permit test, DOT physical and either start my training on July 14th or July 21st in Lancaster, Penn.
Can anyone help me here??? What should I do? Should I go with Schneider National as in the National fleet or the dedicated fleet? Should I try to hold out for Roehl? Should I also contact Millis Transfer? I need a good job and I can use your professional advice. Thanks again.

Why not National? All jobs i talked to need be 160 hrs school. and some also have to be accr. Sage is farther for me 2-3 hrs away there is still$4200 $300 less then National. Only accredited sage is in In. Company's like Crete only hire out of school in Orlando they tould me that is accredited by PDTI. At a comm. college only $1800 but 10 wks and still 2-3 hrs away and no help foom rooms at either sage or orlando. I need help to know were to work so then need find school. Everyone why not national can even apply for sallie mae loan and get money for room also etc.. also can get salliemae loan for sage but about same price and the $1800 pdti accr. scholl is only $1800. Anyone know of Ct transport out of southeast flatbeds. Wanna kind think go there and they take from all schools I listed. Send your answers (help)

National has a bad rep and I would not go with them I belive that they stick more than on student in the truck if you go to sage it is one on one. I would not want to watch other students drive I want the drive time to be actually drive time.
I belive that you can add the tution and rooming on the salliemae loan but I would also try the WIA program they will also help with the housing for school. The Wia Program is a grant and you never repay it. All sage schools are accredited with the PDTI.

check the WIA program it is a grant you never pay back

schneider is a better company I have been told. Myself I would go with the 48 state over regional because I do not require more home time.
We can not make your decision you need to decide for yourself if you want to drive 48 or only regonial.
What do you need in hometime? Rember the more you are home the less money you make.

A job verification problem like that I would probably report as unemployed/looking for work rather than have a problem with getting hired. I have a 2 month period between jobs and marked it as such, Landstar still hired me as a O/O.

There are worse places to start out than Schneider, maybe you can move on from them later if you want.

If sage is not accredited in your area then I do not know why.
They should be accredited before opening.
I was under the impression that all sage schools held the same accredation.
I do not know why crete will not hire from that particular school mabey they had bad experinces with the students from that school.
Just because crete may say that they are not accredited with them does not mean anything.
Crete I was told is a little picky sometimes.
Crete can not say wether or not a school is or is not accredited they do not have access to that info unless the school offers it to them or they know were to look for the info.
You should look up the webpage and call the corparate office at sage they are located in camphill pa tell them that you have been getting conflicting info from one of their schools and they will handle the problems like yesterday make sure you give as much info as possible including the city were the school is located.
Did you know that you have serveral sage schools in id and states arround you?

here are the certifications etc that they list on the webpage
the have a list of there schools on the webpage too and for them to advertise that they are accredited and not actually being accredited would be a crime.
