Valid point, Ma'am (don't get upset at the ma'am. Every lady 16-600 is ma'am in my book). I agree that steady running miles make a big difference.
It's like I say, everything is a balance. Look at it all carefully and if the scale (of your current job) tips too far negative, then it's time to move. Only you can be the judge of when it's too far. For me it was the negative attitude of corperate toward maintenance and repairs (shorting the grease monkey hours, not buying parts stock, and trying to get me to run a damaged truck) and the roughly 10% shorted pay for miles run. These things got me out and looking and I got lucky landing a better job. Your fulcrum may be at a different point than mine allowing for more weight on one side of the scale.
Swift isn't a bad company overall and they really helped me get a start. If they'd fix the short miles, I'd be inclined to come back if my current job falls through. But until they fix those problems, they are lower on my list.
Swift drivers, sound off

I don't see where Shrek has been condescending. I do see where the thread is digressing and where people are getting quiet insulting. *shrugs* I hope Admin closes the thread soon before it simply becomes another thread of nothing more than insults and hate.

Just as a point of reference in the hourly world, $20.00 per hour, in a normal, no overtime situation, with 2 weeks of non-paid vacation works out to roughly $40,000 per year.
Injun Thanks this. -
Just popping my head in to say, " Hello Swifties". I may be joining your ranks in a month or so.

So my dm tells me today they getting false idle readings on my truck--of course i told him that 2 weeks ago LOL--So they gonna put me in shop in michigan after delivery to fix it or maybe have to get another truck. Lets hope it dont take too long but im betting its gonna be another truck--this one got some serious issues and is possessed by some ghosts (today my passenger window rolled down on its own and wouldnt go back up for 2 hours) so nice when its pouring rain too

Electrical ghosts in Volvos can be fixed with either a 9/16th, or 5/8" wrench. Disconnect the ground and wait 15 minutes.
My A/C would turn on in the middle of the night when I started it to recharge the batteries in the winter. Clearance lights wouldn't work, headlights wouldn't work. No turn signals.
