Glad I left NM early this am. After the sun came up (I was almost to Kingman), the wind started.
Got to Barstow TA by 12:30 and now the wind is blowing lightweight drivers down the parking lot. Going to have to set a net up to catch them! :biggrin_25522:
My load is due tuesday at 0600 in Oakland, but I'm leaving here early tomorrow (to miss the wind again) and then try and see if they'll take it early.
It's bound for Korea, so I guess it all depends on their having a slot open to let me unload.
In the meantime...just rockin' and rollin' in the wind.

I scraped by lol. Saw some wind rain snow and even a little hail up in utah. Had the CO port of entry give me a hard time this afternoon. Gotta love those guys :biggrin_2556:. I think the woman was just mad cause she had to work on easter weekend lol.

Was gonna push on to ogden tonight but after seeing the FJ in salt lake I said fark it there won't be parking so I made some here. Will just make up the last 60 miles tomorrow no biggie.

Hope they have a boat anchor of a load comin right back out of the same plant. Supposed to get windy and don't like these hills when empty and "breezy".

    time zones get me sometimes.
Left Barstow this morning at 0400...but that was CDT.
So arrived at Guistine around 0730. Reciever can't take me today, so I'm done for today. Deliver tomorrow in Oakland at 0600.
The wind died down...to about 30mph.
Until I got down Tehachapi, I wasn't sure who was winning...me or the wind.
Heard from some other drivers that CHP shut down 40 between the river and Barstow yesterday afternoon after a couple trucks literally blew off the road.
Some of those gusts made me wish I had outriggers!
But here I sit for a whole day, practicing my napping, reading and napping.
Not a total loss. Managed to get 301 miles before breakfast.:biggrin_25511:

Had a good week going until Friday.Peterbilt still hasnt fiqured out what is wrong with my truck.Been sitting here in Atlanta since Friday.Trying to get miles to take time off this coming weekend.Kinda hard when your trucks been in the shop for 4 days.Did get in two rounds of golf, and been able to watch a lot of playoff basketball. Some worse places to be stuck than ATLANTA.Was told I get breakdown pay today, somethings gotta give.Ive gotta move into a new place this week, cant do it with no miles to scan.Somethings gotta give.Im gonna give Bonnie a call tomorrow.Everybody be safe .

The breakdown pay takes the sting out of it. Once they start paying that, things start to move REAL fast.

Gonna talk to bonnie about deferring a payment also.Ive been on the Dark side for a while and never asked for any help.I can understand being down for a few days, but tomorrow will be the 5th day.Its getting critical now.Breakdown pay will help, but it doesnt put any money in my pocket.

Screw defer, how about they make this months payment because they you gave me a PO crap truck to lease. I am sure when they presented the lease the part about you sitting in a hotel watching Oprah, making no money wasn't part of the presentation. You know Oprah wouldn't put up with it!

Calm down Dryver,I know you had some problems, but actually this is a 2011 Pete,with120000 miles on it and is the first trouble Ive had with it.Part of the problem was it happened right before Easter and Pete was ,basically off for two days.Ive already got this weeks payment paid, and with 125 dollars a day in breakdown pay,the next weeks will be handled also.I just wont make any money for two weeks, thats the unacceptable part.I train,so I make decent money,I just wanna avoid being behind when I come back from taking care of business. If she wont help me ,ill just go back to the company side.Thats my ace,if she wont help, either take care of it,or lose a driver. If I go back company, with the breakdown pay, they will actually owe me money and the truck hasnt moved in five days.Because if I get to the yard Friday,I will only owe two days on the current payment,Im ahead of the curve here. But Im not gonna go home and come back and be behind the eightball.Homey dont play that game.

    Dryver Thanks this.

Has nothing to do with insurance, has to do with do you go to the sleep lab owned by the doctor, or buy the T-shirt with sensors that you wear for a night in your truck, and send back to the lab. Different lab than the Stevens doctor too!!
