You do not have to be paranoid to have to worry about a dot cop standing on your step and he hears "your driving day has ended" YOU WOULD SEE DOT COP'S EYES LIGHT UP. One time in June when dot has their 72 hour push I was pulled into scale house 3 times in one day. In Mass on way to pick up, in VT. still on my way to pickup and on way back home in Mass. I aslo got pulled over one time because my plate light was dim. As I am sitting there while he tries to find something else I see 4 or 5 cars go by me with one headlight.

 

As I posted, if you are that paranoid about it...eithor run it up so the hours don't run out or get another device. Heck, just turn the darn thing off next time you get pulled over as apparently, that happens a lot with you.

As far as I know, there no laws proscribing a PND in any juristriction. California has a law about windshield mounting but not against the device itself (yet). So I can't see that in itself promoting enforcement. The fact that you were pulled over in the first place may have something to do with whatever enforcement is being executed.

When was the last time you were doing something wrong when you got pulled over. The only one time out of the many times I have pulled was there something wrong. My plate was dirty so it was dim. I do not know where you drive but I drive 99% northeast and they do not need a reason to pull you over. The only reason they need to pull you over is because you are driving a truck.

 

I finally got around to installing the latest update. I have only one issue with it. In order to add a silly word, you changed the font size of the ETA distance and time remaining field. It was hard enough to read it before, but now it's almost impossible. Please revert this back to the way it was before.

I'll ask again. Can anyone tell me if map updates are free for 30 days or free for life? I've heard both. I tried getting a response from RM with no luck yet. I guess I could always buy something else from a company who is more willing to talk to prospective customers instead.

No, they are not free for life. Neither are any other company's map updates that I am aware of. And how did you try to get a response from RM? I've never had a problem calling their support line and getting information. Same with email. I would not consider posting a question on this forum to be an official method of contact. Just sayin'.

 

ever since my last update i cannot connect my 710 to the pc anymore.
usb port comes up with error unsuported device.

tryed on 4 deferent pc's any idea?????

I need to make a decision on which GPS to get soon because I need to return my son's Tom Tom which works pretty good but I really need something more truck specific.
