I think his intentions were strictly on the up and up. Not sure why I think that. Just a gut feeling.

I have noticed that some of the QC messages have a more humane tone. Maybe it's just coincidence.:smt102

Ms. Nana, I am, sadly, guilty of just what you describe here.

Regarding Shrek. I actually spoke with him on the phone briefly and did a little it of checking around. He is not management. He's just what he says he is. A night time CSR. Hardly management. I understand what he was trying to do here: bridge the gap between drivers and office staff....give a little bit of understanding of what happens on the other side of the computer. He had Bryant Glass' blessing to do so. Bryant Glass is the Central Region ECT Manager. And a man who is also very concerned about driver retention.

I'm no company "shill." I have my own complaints about the company. I just choose to keep my negativity about it to myself for the most part. I did share some of my frustrations here and on other threads. Some are company issues, some are driver issues.

What I am getting sick of: this separation between the office and the steering wheel. We all are working toward the same goal: to line our pockets as richly as possible. The company is trying to do the same thing. Swift IS NOT A CHARITY!!! Swift is in this TO MAKE MONEY. Just like we are. When Swift is solidly profitable...through everybody's hard work...I don't see the people actually in the trenches being left behind. I'm hearing positive murmurs...which generally turn into whispers, then talk, then shouts and finally, news. None of us can make it happen alone. So get off your high (435) horses and try some cooperation instead of simply b****ing.

My opinion? If you hate your job, go find one you will like, rather than consistently tear down the very company that feeds you and your family. It's bad enough we have to weather attacks from outside the company, from people who have no idea what they are talking about and spouting off like they have all the facts. (Not talking about you, Otter...or Mrs. Otter.) And it's one thing to present your concerns in a constructive manner. But when all you can do is attack from within, well, I can tell you what happens to dogs who bite the hand that feeds them.

There is a reason Jerry Moyes is the boss and you aren't. Perhaps 50 years experience in the business might have something to do with it. There is a focus on driver retention right now, like there hasn't been in recent memory. There is also a huge push for safety and service. Here's the bottom line: If you want to be retained, do your JOB! Otherwise, find something else. There are people clamoring to sit where you are right this second. You are no better than any of them. And you can bet THEY will be HAPPY to clean the trailer out before dropping it.

As for these attacks on Shrek? I will hold the fire back some. But I am extremely disappointed considering some of the directions these attacks have come from. Perhaps requesting more information from those of us who know for sure might have been in order. Shrek is in the trenches with us. He's just doing it from the other side of the screen.

    Y'all have a nice day.

Us against them attitudes within a company produces chaos. It is our responsibility as employees (both hourly and salary) to produce giving 100% effort. All of us should have known what was involved with our jobs when we signed on. When the L/O signed their paperwork it was their responsibility to understand all the language. The company had to do some things over the last couple of years to save money, but everything they did that affected us, the drivers, was spelled out beforehand. Any time you don't agree you have the CHOICE to stay or leave. Negative change can happen very quickly. Positive change, to recover from the negative, takes time and planning. It will not happen overnight, but it is beginning to look better. Are there still problems, absolutely. To solve those problems you have to use the lines of communication that are open to ALL of us. Yelling and screaming will only cause a deaf ear to be turned your way. You must also realize that sometimes compromises must be made. How many times have you heard the expression "Baby Steps"? That's where we are right now, in the baby steps mode. It will get better!

I was very doubtful about his intentions and then I spoke a bit to him. I do believe he was trying to find out problems so he could report them and help solve them. I do not believe he had any harmful intentions at all.

*shakes my fist at you* One of these days Pal...........straight to da mooooooon! LOL

I thought it was nice to discuss things too. *shrugs*

Oh Injun hun......we ALL are guilty of it at times. I know I am!

I just read a pm from a dear person whom I love and don't talk to nearly often enough. In it she apologized if she'd offended me. HUH??? Not even close! The thing is.......we ALL could stand to remember the other fellow is allowed his/her opinion.

No its ok... Its perfectly fine for drivers to give me a ration of... crap, but if I dare say someone has a less than sunshine attitude, then I am the Bad Guy, the Corporate Spy.

Listen y'all. Believe what you want. I was a driver, and I know how when I was a driver, we all knew exactly what really went on behind the scenes. The scheming, the lying to drivers cause their DM doesnt like them.

Imagine my surprise when I found out the truth.

Yes, I go home every day. But you know what? This is the life I chose.

Swift does not know that I am on here. They do not know that there is someone on the inside that gives a crap enough to try and help drivers better relate to their company, to provide answers.

I do not know who you are, with the exception of Injun, whom I have talked to on the phone. I am not looking to get anyone fired, or report anyone for anything. Hell, I disagree with a lot of what Swift does as well!

Honestly, I wont defend myself anymore. You have your opinion, and I have mine. And you know what they say about opinions...

And as far as chips on shoulders, yeah, I think maybe my point has been proven. Maybe I have one on my shoulder as well.

    So bite me :biggrin_25525:
