I drive a 112 Freightliner Columbia day cab.The hood is a snubbie and has great visibility and can turn on a dime.I like look of the long nose trucks, but I'd never get one into the tight places I get this one

I drive a Pete 387, I like it. But it reminds me of a football helmet. But the cab and condo sleeper are huge!

Id prefer a long nose Pete, smaller cab and classy looking.

Good for the fleets.......not for me. I like the fact I can raise the hood and see the entire engine. I like having a big enough radiator I can pull a 2 mile hill grossing 120k WITH a PDI flashed ECM and not overheat. I like having a truck I can sell in minutes if I choose to and not months. I like having a truck that also still has resell value when I'm done with it.

If your writing the check and your happy with them, GREAT!!! But they're not for everyone. Something to think about, it's not uncommon to see a 30yr old classic styled Pete, KW, ect running around that still look and function great. How many T2000's or plastic Volvo's do you think will be in the same condition in say 2040?

    I have a 1yr old son.......his trucks are made of plastic......mine are not.:biggrin_25525:

T-800 is my favorite. Set back axle for better tight quarter turning. KW quality. Best all around truck on market when spec d out right for job. Nice large radiator. Good visibility. Good resale. Can adapt to any job.

I went on KW website the other day just to look around...I've always been a Pete guy, but those W900's look pretty good, and the dashes in them look sweet! I like it better than the current Peterbilt dash.

900 & 800 are basically same truck. 800 has setback axle and sloped hood for tighter turning and better visibility. Both great rides. I just hauled OD freight mainly and the turning advantages meant a lot in tight quarters.

I'm training in a kw w900. It's probably a good thing I am learning in a long nose one compared to a short nose style

Which volvo do you have and what engine do you have? How long have you been driving it?

    Thanks,

    Jim

I definitely like the long hoods more, especially the looks of a flat top Pete. Most of the new aero trucks like the T700 look awkward to me, the sides of the cabs look too big, the doors seem huge, just all around disapportionate. And I'm also a fan of anything thats easier to work on as well...
