You sound like an "alright guy", but you're letting the company walk all over you. YOU have to cover YOUR arse out there, so if you choose to run like this, need to be creative. Best of luck......

Just checking.. there wasn't any sort of truckstop within 50 miles of leaving the place.. BEFORE you crossed the state scales?

Looks like it's supposed to say "Inspection Date" but part of the n got cut off making it look like an r.

Nope, 12 miles to the state scale on a back road, not even the interstate.
Since I had not run the area before (I stay off the far east coast as much as possible!) I asked the veterans if it would be open and they assured me they had NEVER seen it open past about 4:00 PM.

The company told me to bring it in, that scale was never open past dark... when I called them to double check, and wouldn't you know it...
    SCREWED AGAIN!

Anyway, got a couple of bites today, but still looking for something local or regional...

I'm still a tad bit confused.
Why would you have a problem showing the last 8 days of your log book not just the last 3?
    No really?
Even when running a coloring book why did you NOT have it fixed to your last change of status and be able to hand them your full note book or store bought book of logs?
That's the whole thing of coloring in the book to make it pass that surprise inspection!
Your profile shows 30 years experience so I just KNOW you know how to falsify with the best of us and could have shown Mr. DOT SOMETHING that would have passed a scale house inspection!
Another thing...could you not maybe sneak up to a window and see if the readout was visible? I can't even begin to count the number of times I've had to do that even at Campbell s in Napoleon, Oh! Well, the old scale house that is!

Thank you Trucker_101, that will be Helpful!

    -----------------------

Surprise highway stop, headed for home, shouldn't have been a weigh station between me and home,
Tired, lazy, just got snagged since I couldn't lay my hands on the 'Correct' log book pages while he was at the window.

My fault, no other way to say it...

I'm now looking for a job that I don't have to run more than one log at any given time...

I can average miles, time, overall speed with the best of them,
but I misplaced the 'Current' logs and only had the 'Sanitized' logs done up to about 3 days previous.
I was waiting until I got in to see what was outbound to see how I needed to balance the last 3 days to take another outbound that week...

Since he took me with him after I couldn't 'Find' the current 3 days logs, there was no chance to fix anything and I got the ticket.

That mistake WILL NOT happen again.

I miss my old job where we only had to have ONE log,
But then again, the owner of that company was a DRIVER before he owned a company, and allowed for us to get some sleep and let the logs catch up!
Seems dispatchers that have never driven think we don't need food, sleep, showers or home time!
In there world, there are NEVER traffic backups, rush hour that goes on for 3 to 5 hours when you aren't moving, there is NEVER any need for decompression time, personal time or family problems.

On top of this all, I'm taking care of my dad during his end stage lung cancer (Smoker for 65 years, worked in trucking/farm all his life, including asbestos brake lining years, farm chemicals, ect.)...
So they were Constantly on my case about taking him for treatments, doctor appointments, ect., even though the wife took him most times...

Believe this or not, they actually DOCKED my pay the day I had to take 2 hours off to get a DOT physical on the road since they wouldn't schedule any off time for me to get one at home!

Anyway, enough of that, Live and learn, I'm looking for a job in south western Indiana.
I would like weekends or a couple of days through the week off (to take care of dad and take some of the pressure off my wife)...
If anyone knows somewhere that wants a responsible driver that WILL NOT leave the truck along side the road, pay $1,500 for an alternator, slide the trailer tires until they are junk, checks oil and tires regularly and generally does a good, safe job,
    LET ME KNOW ABOUT IT!
