Try May Trucking they have a terminal in Pensacola FL some people say they are not the best but they are in your state. Unfortatly you will have to pull reefers they do not have a school but may hire out of Sage by you.
When you call talk to Leona W tell her Mike G told you to call her.
The only problem I see is the schooling that you need money for.

I drove for May many years ago. There turn over rate was about 300% every 90 days and their reception room was always filled with recruits out of driving school.

Don't expect a company you will be happy with. However, if you need the experience, they will run you all over the country and you will get experience. Just don't plan on being home often unless you get lucky.

I doubt if their use of drivers has changed. You will be nothing more than a number on a board.

They told me that they have one of the lowest turn over rates now. They also said I will not just be a number.

Now I am not saying this is true or not but hey I need some experince and due to the accident that I had back in dec 06 in my pickup no good companies will touch me yet. Even though I was not charged with the accident.
I was told hometime is 1 day for each 7 days out they tell you to expect to be out for 3 weeks at a time.
I am single no kids so it does not matter if I am gone that long.

I will be curious as to how they take care of you.

Yes, any accident; fault or not, is not a good thing to have on your record. For some reason, the industry does not care about fault; they just want to see a clean record.

Sad truth about something very unfair to many who have had the unfortunate experience of bad luck thanks to other people.

I can see Safety, but this has nothing to do with safety; just poor management of good people.

Let me know how you fare out there.

    Best to you,

    Lucky

Well I just went and got a mvr today and all that is on it is from 6/02 and 5/01 nothing about the accident or the ticket from dec 06.

I asked the lady at dmv how long it takes for accidents or tickets and told her that is was 7+ months ago and she said if it was going to be put on my record that it would of already been there.

I guess that I have a clean record.

I reported that I had a accident and one ticket to May but I will probaly have to fill out another app.

Sould I list the accident and ticket and just state I still have a clean record according to the DMV?

As I stated before I was not charged with the accident but I recived a ticket which I pled down to ''obstructed'' veiw a 0 piont violation.

If you have a clean MVR, it is up to you what you report as there is nothing to verify. You can state you were in an accident buy not charged and that your record is clean.

The only time you get in trouble is when you don't report and an investigation reveals you did not tell the truth. Job denied!

You should have no problem as long as your MVR is clean.

ok thanks I will still probaly list the accident and ticket on the app and just let them know not charged with it and have a clean mvr that seems to be the safest way.

Class A Drivers is a really good website to create an application and get it seen by many companies based on experience, freight type, and location.

You should fare well. Good Luck in this transition in life. Driving is a real pleasure for those who love it and I did. However, as an owner operator, there was not enough money to continue so after many years on the road I hung up cap and decided to stay home.
