Now for a twist.....
Worked in construction for years....We had pumps and generators that not only were fueled while running....But oil changes while running.....
Pull the plug....Pour in the new oil....When the oil runs clean....You stop pouring in the new and put the plug back in....

Liquid fuel does not explode. If it did, then every vehicle in the world would be a rolling bomb. What explodes is the fumes, you get the same reaction from dust particulates, grain and anything that is flammable and dispersed. Modern fuel tanks keep fumes from building up in the tanks of vehicles. You could check your fuel level by dropping a lit match in the tank and chances are the match would just be put out.
