Not so fast... I was told 3 weeks ago that a company driver detention policy is due any day now.

This is all subject to change.... Kicker is that if detention is "in play" and the company driver fails to cross the t and dot the I.... Driver can be fined. So arrival and depart times must be noted on the bills.

Today, had a second stop added to my load... Prime didnt even know, but quickly got on top of it. Too bad it was a royal f-up on the shippers part. Trusted shippers directions that went to wrong gate at Westover AFBase. Then no escort, no answer when called. Get escort and they have me back into a hanger with a huge C5 parked out back. PX trying to play the Costco game with a one day bulk sale out of a hanger. My produce was expected on a truck with a lift gate... Thus No forklift driver, and no dock... Just a pallet jack.

Woman went up and down the hangers and found an Air Force load specialist to operate the forklift. Hmmm... No refrigeration in the hangar. Not my problem.

Hassles had to push back delivery a couple hours tomorrow morning at Ft. Drum. 14 running out so I'm grabbing an 8 off I90 here in NY.

We already do the arrival and depart times on the bills on the lease side - its a formality, since payroll can just look-up your GPS location for the same data. Just take the time off of your arrival and depart calls on the QualComm.

But that's a good deal. I always felt a little "used" when sitting at a dock for an inordinately long time... while those stinkin' lumpers loafed.

Playing musical trailers today. Company guy in a lightweight shows with the load in a 26-series trailer for a repower. Now I can scale 46,200 lbs if its in a lightweight trailer, but not one of those lead sleds... CAT scale showed me at 81250. So... gave it back, and here I sit - except I'm at the TA in Elkton MD.

It's not a formality, there are plenty of customers that will not pay dentition without times written on the bills.

IP and Sazook, I paid over $18 for one of those stamps at the company store a couple weeks ago, and have had little/no luck getting receivers to fill it out. Is there a secret? When I ask them to, they either ignore me or tell me "we have our own stamp" which, of course, does not have the needed information on it.

Sitting at the little truck stop near the WalMart DC in Ochalata, OK for morning delivery. According to a sign we can no longer park in the big dirt lot across the street from the DC. Limits things...

As far as the seals go on the stamp, I fill in the seal numbers myself and ask them to sign it, if they won't I make a notation in the signature field of the stamp as to where they signed for the seals. For the times, if they won't fill it out I'll put the times in myself, we have some customers that don't care who wrote the times down as long as they are written down, and I doubt most of the others would realize the difference between me writing them in and the receiver.

Now, if you have a shipper that gives you a gate pass with all the times / seals on it, but makes you turn it in to the guard shack when you leave, what I do is I have an all in one scanner/printer/copier in the truck, and that gate pass will get scanned into my laptop or copied before I give it to the guard.

Yeah... when you get your bills back, stamp 'em, put the appropriate times in and initial it yourself. Any time I'm over two hours at a place (shipper or receiver) they get that treatment.

Been getting some detention on just about every settlement...

Thanks! I will make that stamp pay for itself. Not sure if I have ever gotten detention from a Wal-Mart DC. They almost always put you in a door on time... they just wait forever to start unloading you. Then they can claim we were in the door on time.

Kraft in Lowville NY... Live load with half a dozen empties sitting next to me.

Drop in Bethlehem PA for anytime before 1100 tomorrow.

Clock will prevent swinging into Pittston terminal for my break... Oh well, as I understand it, the new facilities are still under construction.
