But in particular the one at PAULS VALLEY, OKLAHOMA.
I arrived 15 minutes early, and the guard gruffly told me to park across street in dirt lot.
Okay. No problem.
I pulled back across with 3 minutes til my appointment.
Got out of truck and he stepped out and said "GET BACK IN YOUR TRUCK AND WAIT TIL THE TIME I TOLD YOU !!"
I went ahead and removed my lock as I was intending to do.
Got inside.
Went to window and said, "Morning. How are you today?"
"FIFTY DOLLARS !!!"
(yep, that was her reply)
"Yes mam, I understand the lumper fee. How are you, good morning?"
"IT WILL BE FIFTY DOLLARS. YOU NEED TO BRING ME A CHECK CAUSE I DON'T HAVE ONE."
When I checked out and paid the extortion fee, I made sure to tell them I became THEIR customer when I paid them, and I sure didn't feel like I got good customer service OR even basic human courtesy.
But then this was the FOURTH chinamart DC that I had been to and treated like pond scum in a week.
WalMart DC's.... ALL OF THEM

Yup, I unloaded trucks at 6085 for 4 years right out of high school. It payed good, but too much bs. They make it look good from the outside but we know how it really is.
I did cuss out many a driver though after opening the door and it looks like they must have been driving Dukes of Hazzard style. Product scattered everywhere. -
Mallwart, yepper they're a real treat. And ask no questions, they tend to get real screwy when ya do that. The only places I ever wished I would be banned were mallwart DC's.
simplyred1962 and halfburn Thank this. -
Delivered Casa Grande a few times. Great folks. Last week I delivered in North Platte, and they were very very helpful in unloading a late load and all were extremely friendly and congenial. Now Walmart in Winter Haven is another story. Next time I'm there, I'll throw my hat in to see if it survives first.

I have no problems at #6084 in Lost Loonies, NM but I guess its due to it always being drop and hook for me. I know most of the Swift dedicated drivers from my days as a Wal-Mart receiving associate. One of them recognized me and said she figured I'd be back OTR after they fired me.

Wanna avoid Wally-World DC's? Pull a flatbed!
northstarfire0693 and Brickman Thank this. -
Poor joke, I know. But chip boxes work too. -
I've been to a few different Wallyworld DC's and haven't had a bad experience like what's been posted. The one I went to the most was in Moberly Missouri.
I think I figured out why they want you to drop your trailer at the dock and pull away... they don't want you to feel the abuse the lumpers are imparting on your trailer. The Challenger, simplyred1962 and Rubber_Duck Thank this. -
Did you ever notice the difference in the way the trailers are slammed around? If it's a mallwart, it's gold. If it's someone elses they couldn't care less.

Walmart is like gov't workers. It's a place of procedures with robots following them. It's all they know and don't dare step outside the boundries. Remember you are providing a service, you are not on a social call, nor are you a customer. Lose that attitude and things go better. Do your job, follow procedures and leave. You greeted them is nice and professional. Demanding a response was not. Don't get your feelings hurt. You have to work a gov't job to understand the mentality. There are many worse customers out there. Walmart prefers you arrive 45-60 minutes early. That's probably why you got punished.
The Challenger Thanks this.
