Now I am just the opposite.. I am so glad I am a solo driver...

7 miles to scale is a walk in the park. I go places where I have to go 40+ miles to scale. Though that T/A in Harrisburg is a real winner..

ok just got done reading all 94 pages in your thread Lady K and i know now what i am getting into with driving teams and i am sooo glad i am going solo as team driving will not be for me i love to be alone and i know that central does not have flat beds (ooorrrrr do they) but i hope to see ya on the road as soon as i get into school and get it all done as companies i have talked to will not accept my exp (grain hauler)because it is considered seasonal (yeah right i say to myself)

so in the famous word of LT. Spock \/ live long and prosper

Central does have a small fleet of flat beds (2 or 3 trucks) and I have only seen them move once or twice in the last 4 months that I have been through WVC.

and usually from one part of the lot to the next.. I understand they were used primarily around Chicago when building industry was booming..

What gets me is the number of Swift Trucks I have started to see with Reefers.. Dad seems to be competing with his daughter...

Ok - what is the secret of driving night shift? (yes I am going to cross post this)... The shifts we have been doing is Gary drives day and I drive night. I do 'ok', but midshift I find I need to pull over and laydown for about 30 minutes and then I'm good to go again. What are the 'tricks' to stay alert without an overload of caffein?

Yep as believe you're taking nap.. sure you are...

I take a good nap before, keep the cab cool and plenty of cold drink handy.
Stopping to pee helps wake me up. Hahaha
