All pay goes thru Comdata, that's why it's delayed a day, and wnh there's a charge for direct deposit. Central can charge something like $1 or $2 because it's what Comdata charges them, although I don't think I've ever seen it. It might be more than deposit a week.

If you don't believe me, call Comdata, and choose option 1 ecash, then option 3 for transaction recap. It will tell you the exact day the money is deposited to your bank account and loaded onto the card from Central.

    I just called and checked.

Payroll told me that we get one "transfer" or direct deposit per week free. more than that they charge for.

I also found out something else about the ComData accounts. It belongs to Central. If you owe them money and there is money in the ComData account, they can (and have done it to some) transfer money out/off the card.

In theory, that's how it works. In practice, it doesn't work that way. And as half of a team, I've watched it not work that way. I've watched my load be taken from me because a training team or a lease op team needed it. If there are two teams that are similar in milage from a load, the training or lease team will usually get the load, even if they have to travel an extrahour for it.

I had a load planner as a dm once, and I've watched planners and dms fighting over who gets loads in SLC. Your dm might be pure as the driven snow, and when your dm farts rainbows fill the room and it smells like roses, but if I talked to your dm and was told the sky was blue, I would still go outside and check for myself.

Klingon, and everyone else, I have the actual comdata statements for january through april. It shows the charges, and what I said can be backed up by physical documentation. And, no, the money is not Central's. We had an issue where they advanced the downtime on our card and didn't say anything. I shifted things around, and when it came to it, we were livid because of the checks. We requested they pull the money off the comdata. Cindy thompson (the payroll manager) said to us that we would have to call, get a comcheck for the amount, call her back with that number and then they could wipe out the negative. If you quit, or go on an extended leave, they can shut down the account (happened to someone in our class). Sorry, but if you do more than one direct deposit a week, it charges you, but as soon as you call it gives you a balance, and they charge you for that (again I have the proof). if you use it like a debit card no charge. When you choose the direct deposit option for your whole check, it is delayed because the money still flows to comdata and then out.

As far as the taxes, as soon as I get home I will look it up on the computer (we are working off phones now), and specify all the various taxes. Again, sorry for everyone who doesn't understand, but you broke out the accountant again.

OK there are a lot of different reasons for fueling differently. If you are Company driver simply fuel where they want you to with the exception to weight. If you are loading at Coors or Miller I would NEVER go in 3/4 to full. Only Coors will rework your load but it can be very time consuming. Miller will not rework you or even scale on there facility , you have to go to a outside vendor to be reworked and in either place if you are over gross it is extremely hard to get product pulled off.
Now then if you are Owner op then simply fuel where it is cheapest and end the pay week with as little as possible unless you are ending a good week and you are heading into a known skinny week(time off).

Direct Deposit form Central goes directly to the bank.. However, there is an option to setup Comdata to get your money and then transfer it. A silly option un;less you like paying Comdata's fees. My paystub matches my deposit 100%.. I am sorry if you aren't setup correctly. That day delay is so Central's BANK can transfer the money to YOUR bank.

Call comdata all you want.. They do NOT control my pay.

When you leave Central. Your final pay will be on your Com Data card. They will not direct deposit it. You can only get it off of the card.
I thought they shorted me for several weeks. Till I was told it was on the card. And it was still on it. A month after I left.

Thank you lextec, tried to tell the rookies here that you cannot go in to pick up a heavy load with a lot of fuel unless you have no choice, the load info should give you an estimate as to how heavy the load is, if it is more than 41k, I would not pick it up with more that 1/4 tank, just in case to have to fuel to accomodate weight, going in with full tanks will cause you to be overweight, either gross weight, axle weight, or both. Sure you can get your load reworked and have some product removed, but I wanted to run, not sit and wait for the load to be reworked. I also agree with running those heavy loads at night, most of the scales will be closed, but it should not change much as far as weight goes, just will make better time not having to stop.
