After my son tested out Werner gave him a peterbuilt with a broken APU among other things. When their mechanics couldn't fix it they sent him to Carrier where it was fixed. He spent 2 weeks getting the truck ,had to travel from Ga. to Allentown to get truck ,then repairs on it while getting detention pay ;$141 1st week then $76 the next week. After 6 days of driving it they terminated him for hard braking;but he's eligible for rehire in 6 months. He's been trying to find a job for the past month but it's hard with that termination on his DAC.I told him today he may have no choice but to go back the Werner if nothing comes up before then.
Last year I was talking to a trainer for Werner who went through all of last winter with a broken APU.They tried several times to fix it ,eventually he gave up and slept with no heat because of all the days lost every time he brought it into the shop.
Whoever came up with the slogan Werner cares deserves a spot in hell next to Osama.I don't know how they can look in the mirror and feel good about themselves, the way they treat people.

Holy smokes, dude, how many times are you going to beat that dead horse? Your son failed himself, the company didn't promise they wouldn't cut someone's throat, please let it go so your son can let it go, move on, and improve things. Dwelling on this SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE isn't doing anyone any good...

OK, then can you spare us the story for the millionth time? Dredging it up doesn't do a bit of good for your son - but if you want to continue the Jerry Springer episode, I guess you can do as you like, just not very mature, especially for a parent.

I'll just remember the next time I see your screen name on top of a post, it's going to be another diatribe about how Werner screwed your son over because he couldn't hack doing his job.... and I'll scroll on past.

Is it legal? you betcha. Your just a number to them that is willing to move a load.

Get your one year done and move on to a better company that cares more for its drivers.

If they ignore you then you aren't talking to the right people. You need to get on the horn and go up someones rear until they get the message that you won't be treated like crap. I mean what else are you going to do? Sit in that truck and roast? That would just be stupid in my opinion. Forget this "just shut up and put in your year" crap. That kind of attitude is the reason why truckers get crapped on all the time. If they think you'll take the crap then they will continue to dish it out. Ever hear of the squeaky wheel gets the oil? Exactly, now get a little fortitude and stand up for yourself!

not to sound rude but with 90% of companies they look at A/C as a luxury and not a must have... All i can say is call your fleet manager and tell him or find another company... For the time being its not the best fix but find your self a 12volt fan. Its better than nothing.. Wish you the best of luck

cj8, the fallacy with some companies and the squeaky wheel, is that the squeaky wheel gets replaced, with a less squeaky wheel.
