No problem. I used to run thru that area quite a bit. A lot of that was me cutting thru the woods to go home or coming from home. That should be a decent area tho.

From what I understand Maverick requires a consistent employment period of (3) years. I understand that they want to do this so they don't hire people with questionable backgrounds. I have been retired for approx. (2) years and am just not ready to retire yet. I was the Pres/CEO of my own small Corp for (13) years prior to my selling the company and retiring. I am as clean as clean can be when it comes to my background and etics. Do you know if Maverick make exceptions to their policy?

Hey guys, I haven't fell off the earth yet. I just been running hard and trying to help plan my wedding that is coming up on July 4th. I have been getting some long runs and I could get use to this. I know it would be like this all the time, but it's great to have it while it lasts. I picked up a pre-load in Cameron TX a couple weeks back and when I went by a terminal, I had it put in the shop. It had to have 6 out of 8 trailer tires replaced and had a airline leak. It's a 99' but so far other than that, I haven't had any problems with it. I had one problem, but I wouldn't call it a problem. I got a load of particle board out of Skippers, VA; which was wider than the trailer. I had to think outside the box on how to get the straps to go under the board and into the rub rail, in order to get it strapped down. It worked like a charm though. That was the first time I had to use a tarping machine. They have one there, but the driver has to use it in order to tarp the load.
Also, for any new drivers that read this.....If you come to Ameristeel in Beaumont TX there is a staging lot before you pull in the gate, that you can park at overnight. I know the directions say no overnight parking, but I was told that I could park there and it would be fine. Also, when you are going to a place that you are unfamiliar with, leave your c.b. on; so that if you make the wrong turn, you can ask someone for directions or call the shipper/consignee, if you are unsure of Mavericks directions. Reason I say this is because I was leaving a consignee today and saw a driver, drive right past the road he needed to take in order to get into the place. I tried getting him on the c.b. but it didn't work. He took the next road down; which led him into a neighborhood.
A friend of mine just got his new 2012 and he said that they are doing 100 trucks a month.
I finally learned how to tarp the other day. It clicked while I was tarping a coil at Mittal in Burns Harbor.. I said to myself, "you are an idiot" lol I'm still not real fast at it, but at least now my tarp jobs don't look like a swelled up balloon going down the road. I will shut up for now, everyone be safe and have a blessed week!
