No the trainers are there to observe, answer questions, and TRAIN you. They will take over in very rare cases,
2 to 3 weeks is the out time and a day for each week out is the home time.
The way to get the most correct information is recruiting. We worked with Julie when we where hired. She was able to answer any and all questions and was very nice.
The only thing so far my husband and I really dont like is the pay day is every 2 weeks. It will take some adjusting to get use to that but other than that so far so good.biker dave Thanks this. -
Biker Dave, Ask all your question to May Trucking. Breakdown, Mileage when doing local drops, scales, fuel, you get the picture. how they set thier Qualcomm for HOS.

SUMTER Pilgrims, If you go here to pick up a Rendering Load Pack a lunch and a snack, wholly moses Pilgrims tells CSR trailer is loaded and ready to roll when I am 20 minutes from plant, 11 hours later I am signing bills on the Load that they LIVE loaded on my trlr... And man oh man that place smells worse than a Five Rivers Feed Lot, the rendering dock is right next to the cork screw that has all the nasty fat and blood coming out to the dump trailers.
Load has 15 pallets and a whopping 27k...biker dave Thanks this. -

Day 2 Orientation
Day 2 of orientation is in history. This morning was spent with HR going over policies and filling out all the new hire paperwork. Man there was a lot of paperwork! lol For lunch they brought in Subway which was a nice change from pizza I hear they usually bring in. This afternoon we went through more training on company policy and history of the company and all that good stuff. With only ten of us in orientation we are cruising right along and finished early today. Tomorrow is the final day of orientation and I'm curious to see if we loose anyone. The instructor mentioned that usually the first day and the final day is when people are sent home. The final day is typically due to false info on the application such as a shady past coming up in the background investigation. It does appear that all of us will complete orientation and be assigned a truck or a trainer. I'm one of three who will go out with a trainer. Everyone else will be assigned a truck and hit the road. So far I'm pleased with what I've been hearing about the company and with the way we have been treated. I will post again tomorrow evening with day 3 of orientation and we shall see if we are done tomorrow or have to go on to a forth day.PurpleMama and DocRox Thank this. -
NO he has been out of a truck since 2004, he will have to go with a trainer for 8 weeks probablybiker dave Thanks this. -
I swear this crap only happens to me...........................
I get to the Worthington plant for an 11am pick up and it's a miracle! My trailer is loaded and ready to go...............NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!...............There is a CREDIT HOLD on the load!
Apparently this customer doesn't like to pay for his pork on time!......
So, finally at 4:30 the check cleared and I was on my way............UGH! -
Ok,hopefully I can get this solved.Hey guys, how are you, been reading through most of the posts and getting ideas as well as answers to what I kinda need to know...but I am curious about something, and this is where I hope either Foxfire or DocHoliday can assist in.My friend just finished his testing up there at the Greeley,CO company last week.He already has a few years of background as a trucker(mainly reefer)& has his licenses of course...so after the testing and everything cleared out they sent him right out on the road. The thing is he is new to the JBS company,he used to work at an independent trucking company that only had old early 2000's kw,bad mechanics...nothing really was run well there. This big change over I think got him too head over heels..for one he thought he was going to take the truck home back straight over to AZ. and work out of the Tolleson co. and go when he wants..huh?! Boy was he wrong. The thing I mainly asked him is do they let you accept passengers to ride along...I asked this of course before he signed up.He mentioned before he signed up that JBS accepts riders...spouse,family,pets..etc.I said'Oh Really'wow..that was easy".Sounded too easy. Then he said he found out later I needed to at least take a'passenger/brakes'test to qualify as a ride along. He is confusing me and I thought I would ask you guys what is thee exact policy to have passengers be allowed to ride with you? I'm sure all JBS affilliates are similar whatever the outcome to passengers.I'm just curious, can you help? Thanks
**Oh by the way,in response to what Jynxx said above about 'final day checkup on shady pasts'..my friend said in the last day when they did those checks,a guy didn't send in/report a previous accident from his record, and when he went in to the office..he stupidly asked the office for their fax # so he send it in....he got let go.
