Well, like I said, seeing it is your SECOND time around owing a truck, you gotta start somewhere
I understand you have 1.3 million safe miles, and that is very honorable. Not too many people can say they have accomplished that.
Glad you made $60k in 3 months, so you cleared $15k a month, not bad. But how much is your truck payment, and trailer rental, and insurance, and how long are you gone to make the $15k each month??? Are you L/P a truck thru them? If so, what kind of truck, mileage, ect.... and lastly, why did you lose the 1st truck????
And I didn't hear thru the grapevine that CRST sucks, I used to pull for them, and know all the crap they tried to pull with us. They pull cheap freight that no-body else will take, and cuts a HUGE chunk out of it for themselves. And that $2.75 a mile isn't squat when your pulling coils. I ran MI trains for 2yrs and I would get $6-$8 a mile hauling 125k up I-94 to Detroit out of US Steel in Gary back when prices were low. And those were the same loads CRST was trying to put out there for $3 a mile.
I was just stating my experience with them, and what I see on the road and in the truckstops. You may be an exception to this, and i just wish you the best of luck. if you are happy there, then good for you, cuz that's all that matters.
wanna no about CRST Malone

I am doing the L/P and got a 2006 freightliner (former Crete truck), it had 503567 miles on it when I got it. The purchase price on the truck is $27000....that same year make, model, miles are selling for $32 to $35k in the Truck paper and at dealers. So in my eyes not a bad price. As far as losing my first truck I had a 2002 9400 Intl. and was leased on to a Reefer comapny out of Roanoke, Virginia. I made decent money there, but my youngest daughter had to have open heart surgery at the age of 5, and I sold it to pay off some astronimical medical bills. Since that surgery I have had terrible credit, so know financial institution would even think about lending me money for a new truck. So after much research and consideration I decided to enter into this L/P program. And thus far I am making more money then I have ever made driving a truck.
This program isn't for everyone, and if I had my way I would have bought a truck through a dealer or auction, but that isn't feasable right now. Like I have stated before on another thread I have averaged over $2000K a week to the house. Now by your standards this might not be great money, but it has helped me start to dig my way out of the financial cavern I have been in since my daughters surgery, and start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I won't by any, means get rich over here, but if rates and demand stay steady, I should net $80K and still spend quality time with the family every week.
I drive a truck to live, and not live to drive a truck.snowman_w900 and Travelinman Thank this. -
I did not mean to raise a stir, I was just stating my experience with them, and it was not good. But then again, it was also 6yrs ago too. They might be better now, but since they make you pay trailer rental, and they nickel and dime you (so I've been told) I would just expect that you should be doing better than $2 a mile to make a living.
But like I said, as long as you are happy, and eveything is going good for you, then that is all that matters. Best of luck to ya, and keep the rubber side down. -

Why the animosity for large cars? I certainly don't care what you drive.. I have a 17 year old Pete with 1,6XX,000 miles on it... I took off all the chicken lights.
I also get paid by the cwt... I have 103,000 lb. scale tickets to prove it... so what?
What we are saying is Malone isn't a top notch company but you have chosen them so good luck... that LP will probably sink you.
If you didn't want our collective opinion why did you ask for it? -

You call agents, brokers, shippers for loads and your dispatcher is basically your secretary, entering your load info into the system.
Or you can let a dispatcher run ya wherever for whatever $$ if you are lazy.
I'd like to know what a top notch company is.
