Oh that's gotta be the best story since the guy told me a bug broke his windshield.

Tell me how did the truck not idling kill them??

    Your kidding right?

People can actually die from heat strokes! Yup, they pass out, usually while sleeping or trying to sleep and die. But who cares, the companies are saving a little coin by NOT letting them idle trucks right?

So as a story, it's totally believable and likely VERY true. In fact, I bet the numbers are much more than three deaths in a year.

Well, it is hard to sue someone if your dead. However, your family would certainly have a case for a civil wrongful death suit.

This is why documentation is VERY important. I've used my cell phone camera to document certain Qualcom messages(it actually works pretty good). Then, send them to my wife and she stores them in the home computer.

I also have a copy of every BOL that I haul in a file folder in the the truck, seperated by month, this has come in VERY handy a number of times. (ie a company I used to work for tried to short me on a check once, until they found out via fax that I had a copy of the BOL... they changed their attitude in a real hurry... I got paid, pronto).

its a very good idea to be organized like that---un fortunately i am not
worked with a guy who had a description written down of every place he had delivered or picked up--at least 6 small books in total----just so he could see what each place was like when going back

Yeah, I used to never be organized either, that is, until I met an ex-state trooper now driving truck and he took the time to show me how to properly cover my butt. (His wife was an attorney).

He was a character, he would pull around back at scales just to visit with the DOT.

Are you saying it to be an arse?

Or, do you really want someone to explain this to you?

Lux Prometheus and blueeyes40 Thank this.

Yeah, people like this don't get it.

Reminds me of the nit wit radio show guys that had a girl drink water, lots of it, for free concert tickets... She of course, died of hyper-hydration.

The idiots were quoted as saying, "Nobody can die from drinking too much water".

I remember that. They even had people call in telling them she would die if not taken to a hospital immediately. I'm sure those DJs lost their jobs, and the company was sued.
