Thanks for the advise Sarge. It is not really pressing for me, was just curious. Would not be able to take anyone until next summer anyway. Just thought I would ask just in case.

I would like to take this opportunity to think you guys for all the information on here. Glad I stumbled upon this site. I have taken 4 months researching and debating when I came upon this site. You guys do a great service telling things like the are. Thanks again for all the information you all have given, it truly does help one sort through all the craziness out there.

 

You got that right. When I got a load that took me home I would have to look on the map find it. But for the past two months things have been great. Like I say thats trucking.

 

i was out the last two weekends. before that, i hadn't missed a weekend home in four months.

 

I hadn't been hung out in over a year..

 

I finally got my permanent fleet manager last week and she has done right by me. I got a pre-plan while sitting on Conover , NC Wednesday morning; that would have taken me to New York for Friday morning. However, while I was writing down the load information, I got a phone call from home saying that my grandmother had just past away. I immediately sent my FM a message and they took me off that load and had me another one getting me home. She told me that the load I am sitting on now, was set up for Tuesday, but if I needed extra time with my family; I could deliver it on Wednesday. I didn't know what to say when she said "take an extra day if you need to". I chose not to take the extra day and go ahead and leave like I usually do. It's just nice to see a company that cares about you as a driver and gets you home as fast as they can; when the need arises.

There is suppose to be a new State Trooper class starting at the end of this year and I am going to try for it again. This will make the third time I have tried to get on. If I do get selected and do become a State Trooper, I will not forget where I came from and what job title I had before I became one.

 

Well I received word today that I will attend orientation starting this Sunday June 5th. Again thank all you posters for the information you have posted in this thread. It has been helpful. After talking more to the recruiter today on the phone, I believe what I was told to be honest. He told me pretty much what you all have been posting here. I will keep you all posted on how it is going once I am there. Thanks again all.
