We wouldnt want to burden the trucking company owners too much. It might cut into their racing team budget... Or they wouldnt be able to buy that new Bentley, like a certain owner of Arrow Trucking we all know about...
No APU, 5 minute idle, 90+ degrees - is this legal?

For instance, 2005 to new Freightliners and Internationals need to have the AC working for proper working of the windshield defroster/defogger.
§571.103 Standard No. 103; Windshield defrosting and defogging systems.
Thankfully, most of the cheapo compaines run Frieghtliner and International fleet trucks.Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
Same on the Kenworths, actually.

1: What profit someone makes is their business as long as they use no force or fraud. Your concern reveals your character.
2: Since we are not all psychotic killers comparing all owners to the criminals who ran Arrow means you got caught in that or your trying to be as childish and melodramatic as the other one.
If you do not like the profits a company makes have no dealings with them. It is that simple. All the rest of your comments about how they choose to spend their money proves you hate the man with a dollar more, and fear the man with a dollar less. They have places for your kind in the world but not in a free market country. -
Lux Prometheus Thanks this.

And as far as Arrow Trucking goes, that owner is probably lucky to still be alive and in one piece after what he pulled.

Clever response. Ok not really, but can you dispute that their profits are none of your business. Of course not.
Just as it is none of their business how you spend your earnings. But I know so many have been taught profit and success can only be gained at the expense of others, and never with the labor of ones mind and body. You can not really help it. Probably learned it in your government school after your free lunch. Or your mommy and daddy told you fairy tales about robin hood and how he punished those with more.
But I'll put you in the file with your cohorts. All the melodrama and name calling further reveals the weakness of your argument and your character. -
Fact IS, many times these cheapo companies understand one thing. Money! Drivers can use this to their advantage, in many ways. Moreover, just moving on, changes nothing and just allows the companies to abuse other drivers whom are likely less experienced than the current ones.
Thankfully, I don't have to worry about this anymore because I have a great company to work for and will go out of my way to increase their profit. Why? I'm treated VERY well. Equipment is top notch and my boss goes out of his way to insure that this is the way it stays.
Hopefully, all drivers can land a job like my current one, but it's not that easy. EVERYONE, stays until they retire and they just don't hire that often. I got extremely lucky. Unfortunately, many just have to stick it out where they are at, and learn how to stick it to the man...Lux Prometheus and Roadmedic Thank this. -
He had a lot of help from other drivers, poor guy had several pay checks bounce and just found out.
