The clutch slips at about 2/3rd throttle. :biggrin_2556: Plus that custom Lipe is sitting pretty on my newly built shelves in my new "garage" at home.

i ran the pp box for 3 yrs had alot of heat related failures went to pdi and never looked back. its cheaper to do a pdi tune than to buy a pp box.

Does pdi have anything for pre-egr cummins isx, been looking at the bullydog but dont want to do anything until i research all possibilities. I have 03 T-600 with 400 cummins isx still has LSC&GDP and im getting on avg. 6.2 mpg. Looking to increase power up to 600+ and trying to get up to 7+ mpg.

Other members have commented, the PDI tune or any tune in general has better results than the PP Box or Bully Dog. There was a thread within the last week, where an ISX owner returned the bullydog as he was not satisfied with the results and/or having mechanical issues.

ok...here's my next question....Is it possible to run 800hp -1000hp and still get 6-7 mpg...And i'm talking about PDI systems now..

Just to give you an example, and to bragg a little... My long hood 379 tri axle dump truck put down 1115hp to the tires at antrims 2011 dyno event, my fuel milage runs between 6.8 and 7.2mpg. I run loaded at 70,000 to 73,280 gross about 85% of all my miles and I run between 100,000 and 115,000 miles a year. A mix of hills, some stop n go and highway miles. So the answer is yes, BUT the the biggest variable is the driver. I could melt her down on these hills i run if I wanted too, or drive it like I have some common sense and it lives every day. JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO USE ALL THE TIME.

I've been wanting to send Kevin Ruffledterd my ifta reports and my dyno results for my barn door shaped hood pete, but I know he'd find a way to take a shizz on it and tell me how bruce will do me better!

BTW the #'s I stated are true and can be verified by a couple very well respected members on here.

For what its worth, running a big horse engine costs big $$ and is not for everyone, but if ya gotta have it it can be done otherwise get a good mild or mid range tuned truck following Mr. H's advice, you'll be extra super happy long time, and able to drive the wee out of it. It will save you many thousands in trial n error ( i know that all too well ), and you'll be able to run circles around 90% of whats out there while gettin great mpg's.. :biggrin_255:

What kind of engine, tranny and gearing do you have in this truck?

    My opinion....

Buy the bully dog. That box allows you to change your programming any time you want. If you go get your ecm programmed by someone else.... Then have to go into the dealer for something, they will wipe out thast program & put there program back into it.

Then you either have to pay to have the ecm programmed again, or just hook up the bully dog & reprogram it yourself.

You know, I've heard another member here complaining about his new lipe clutch slipping also.... In fact, he's pulling it out today & putting his old clutch back in.

The LIPE needs to seat in for the torque capacity to hold if he's pushing higher Hp and torque numbers than the clutch is rated for. If he'd drive it and use the clutch on every shift until it seats properly in the first 5000 miles than the 2400 Lb-Ft clutch will handle a ton of Hp and torque compared to a Spicer 2050 clutch.
