As for working for a company that treats you bad well you have to get your start somewhere. some have no choice there are good drivers trying to put up with the crap so they can get the time in to get that better job.
But at the same time you should not be treated like crap from day one.
The company should treat you right until you prove to them that you are or are not crap.
There are some good drivers trying to get back into trucking after getting shafted by some companies and fm`s that suck and the driver just got tired of fighting day in and day out. and the company hits their DAC with bull. now they have to fight that as well.:biggrin_25513:

I remember working for Arrow Trucking (insert laughs here____) They used to try to get me to running goofy routes and tried playing me in northern Ca. Here's the example how mismanagement can lead to the doors closing. I had a problem with my alternator and told the company to send a wrecker while I was at the truckstop. Wrecker comes out and tells me I have the part with me and will replace everything for $1200 labor included. Advised the company and they said to have him charge my alternator. The wrecker advised me by the morning truck wont start will have to come out again in rush traffic, charge another flat rate and then have me go 40 miles further to the T/A to pay $800 for the new alternator plus labor. Point is total expense due to mismanagement $3600+ instead of $1200 done right in the first place. Alot of companies have poor drivers, some have poor managers and almost all will have a situation that will make you wanna do this-

Since your question is quite obviously rhetorical.... Let's review something that happened at a previous job I had...(with an unscrupulous company)

They tried to get me to sign a wiaver that would allow them to take a $200 fee out of my check if I loaded under a wrong supplier number.

Ok, now here is the problem. The dispatcher gives you the number, they have made mistakes before, giving the wrong numbers... therefore, the load was loaded on the wrong supplier. The dispatchers then refused to text or record the numbers on voicemail giving you nothing to cover your butt... It's would be basically your word against his.

Sounds to me like the company was trying to tell you what to with your money by legally(w/ signed waiver) removing it from your check.

Obviously, I didn't sign it... They sent me 4 or 5 of them in about a 2 month time frame and I filed them all in file #13.

See you can keep not answering the question with quaint tales of people that have no bearing or relevance, it just proves you possess no answer or explanation.

Are we going to begin telling stories? I can assure you there are ample examples right in this thread of people not only encouraging damaging equipment that was left in their trust, but demanding it of someone to sate some hatred for anyone who actually provides jobs. These demands are made hearing one side of a quaint story much like yours and does nothing but reveal the true character of the poster making the demand. Much like yourself. I will bet you a cup of coffee within a year you will be lambasting the sorry pos's you so love now about how they screwed you but you got over on them in the end.

How could I make that bet? Easy look at your track record and how many screwings you claim. Perhaps it is you placing yourself in that position. Nah it will always be others doing something to you but your triumphing in the end showing them now won't it?

Are there bad companies? Sure their are and I have no sympathy for anyone that would accept employment from them.

Are there bad employee's? Sure and I have no sympathy for people that deal with them.

Are there bad drivers? Sure there are, and I have no sympathy for the people that hire the 25% that need to go!

We are all out here to turn a buck., nothing wrong with that.We have to work and make money to live in this world.
For new drivers or ones with little time driving good compamies are hard to get a job with.
The other companies, and we all know them. Do not think about the driver. They do not care. It is all about the money.
The schools of business teach the bottom line is all that matters. cut pay,cut bennies, cut equipment, cut cut cut. As for drivers who needs that driver that has 2-5-10-12-13-15-20- years driving they want more pay. get rid of them. hire that new guy we can stick it to him and do not have to pay him as much.
The fact is this as stated good drivers save the company money, they make the company money. keep them. spend a little more for the comfort, you will make a ton more in return and the company will have a better rep.

not all drivers are the same, we all have differnt wants and needs. I do not think a company should provide for every want but some things should be.
If the driver can not do the job get rid of them. if they wreck or treat the equipment like crap fire them and make them pay for it if it was their fault.
the good drivers should have the good things and the respect for doing it right.
If you say do not work for a company that treats drivers bad well give that person a place to go to. alot of drivers only have two choices work or don`t work and you know out of the two even you would pick work.:yes2557:

Not all drivers can do that right off the bat, they need to make money
and learn how to run. did you just go out and buy a truck jump in it. and
get all the loads you could run from day one. If so then my hats off to you.:biggrin_25514: you are the god of drivers.:biggrin_2559:
