was this engine originally a PEEC ? If so they did have a change for the oil pressure sensor. Originally they were incorporated into the transducer on the end of the peec pump. After issues with it leaking oil into the transducer and eventually it would fail , they did a remote oil pressure sensor update and that was about where they were located.

I seen the 2 wires running above it and thought they was what you were talking about.
Dicky is probably right on this one. -
Turn off the engine. Unplug the part. Start the engine. Check for fault codes. If there aren't any, it's not important.
-
No codes...does not effect engine just wondering what this thing Is or was
Cant find a mechanic that knows, then again had a pump tool the other day and they had to keep guessing what it was.....lol -
I dont think so it came to us used a few years ago,It's a : 3ZJ58401
Comes up a "C" block -
I am going to guess an oem coolant temp warning sensor. Looks like it should go in the plug just behind the block heater wire in the picture.
-
That could be...I think I'll trace the wires if I can when I have time -
Its a coolant temp sensor
-
probably running the fan or a warning light
-
They made the peek in both b and c series, but that is not a cat sensor, and its in water not oil
