Thanks for the response...my course was less time and only 40' in a cabover. I am wondering about CTL boot camp...can I make it through with my cabover and 40 foot background. Not a lot of time in conventional cab, and never in front of a 53 foot, althoiugh the WB is same...yes?

I wouldn't be so sure you won't be pulling our doubles in the near future. CRST has been pulling our sets on certain lanes. I'd rather Freight drivers pulled all of Freight's freight in all of Freight's lanes, but I'd much rather see you guys at TL pulling them over any outside carrier..

welcome joe. where did you go to school? congrats on conway looking there myselfe:biggrin_25520: so far alot of great people at conway.

are there any jerks or is everyone pretty friendly. how are the dms?
does conway force dispatch? trust me i do not plan on turning down a load but there are those times for whatever reason,

I know conway runs some ups. so may as well do conway freight lol makes good sense.

just a guess but I think the reason that freight does not run ALL the lanes is most freight jobs are local or regional and useually home more often. some things are just more profitable to have a long hauler do it. less handeling, switching ,faster delivery ect. if i go conway TL would love to deliver to freight. ( there is a freight terminal close to home):biggrin_25519:

I think teams normally get the freight loads. Not positive on that one. Then again that could be their way of getting you home.

As a team we have pulled 5 or 6 Con-way freight tuns already (in less than a month). Pulled only about that in a year as a solo.

We really like pulling con-way freight loads. D/H on both ends and most of the yards are pretty easy to get to so far. Obly bad thing about them is they are pretty tight time wise. We set cruise on somewhere between 58 and 62 on most loads (for MPG and such) but we always go hammer down (65) on con-way freight runs.

I have been out of trucking for 8yrs now and I am ready to return. I got a DUI in 2003 but I had to do something because I had a family. Got a job with the school district and made a name for myself. Also went to Culinary School where I got my degree in Culinary Mgt. But I also got remarried to a school teacher that has a CDL also. So now she wants to team drive. I am a old hand with prior job with Fleet Carriers(lease purchase, bad move), Carpet Transport( Prater Raiders) and also was a O/O with Landstar Ranger. Also drove for Barr-Nunn so I used to be pretty good. Just need to know where to start?

good luck countyboy. welcome to the forum.

Does conway pay detention, multi stop, loading ? also do you get to fuel anywhere or at only designated places ?

Con-way pays detention, layover, break down, multi-stop, and loading/unloading. They also pay extra cpm for haz-mat and NE.

As far as fueling, you have to fuel at designated fuel stops (mostly pilots or flying j's) but they dont tell you what specific locations to fuel at, you just pick any along your route.

katey, you sure your not a recruiter? sorry your much more informative than the recruiter i talked to lol. that is a pretty sweet deal on the xtra pay stuff.
not sure about pilots here but never heard of flying j. the only BIG truck stops i remember from traveling were TA, and 76 the others were several small ones here and there eccept whites in VA that was a big independent mone

does crowder do the endorsements? hazmat, doubles tripples

also have you done any runs to C&S groceries?
is conway dryvan only or do they have refers?
