I have learned over the past couple weeks that you want to find the supervisor or manager at a CHR location. They are the ones that can approve the best rates and have all the headaches dumped into their laps. So if you have a good record with them then they are more likely to give you a better rate so they don't have to worry.
Had a long conversation with manager at location that services a lot of accounts near my home. His team has a range on every load that they can work within. Above that rate he needs to approve and he admitted that at least half the time he will say no because he doesn't know the carrier. But if he can look you up and you have a good record with them he will approve a higher rate. He said most managers spend their time dealing with carrier problems. So if you are not a problem child he is willing to pay a little more.

It is interesting what independents think of as cheap is the max what someone leased to someone is going to make.

I am really happy for you as long as they are treating you well. What scared me and puts up a red flag every time i deal with a company,in and out of trucking is when they mention "We're Christian" I am too,but i don't have to use it to get business, but most that have told me that are the ones i have been screwed over the most with low pay or no pay and so i learned to go the other way when a company representative or prospective employer has said this to me and i hope you understand. Good Luck to you out there !Brickman Thanks this.

I'd like to add a broker to this list. RHL is the broker. Bunch of liars. Load was Sposed to pick up early afternoon. Get to the customer and find out it's loading the next morning. Up yours Jesse from RHL. Up yours.

These guys are a bunch of jerks. Book a load with them and they call you 4 times a day. Won't answer the phone, won't call you back and if the load is booked, you won't get an address or directions with your confirmation. Had one that never called me back after getting a confirmation dispatch.

We have dealt with these guys as well. I usually shut the phone off if I am going home for the weekend. It's just easier that way.wcurtin1962 Thanks this.

Haulmark Services - out of Houston = Bad and very incompetent.
They booked me an impossible load; Galveston to Seattle. My dispatch didn't catch it and I was stuck with a late fee.
They wanted me to run it in 2 1/2 days, 2400 miles. They did the usual Broker act and I refused to run illegal, and sure enough I got an inspection that morning at the Kansas border. I passed and that's enough proof for me. Yeah, I have a claim against them. -
Did a shippment for TQL and the broker was a total jerk, rude and a pest in calling at least 10 times that day.

Piedmont Logistics, LLC d/b/a Clarity They are freight forwarders and not required to carry a bond (just found this out from OOIDA) I pulled 3 loads for them and now going threw OOIDA to get paid from them might have to go to small claims court. OOIDA said they have received 100's of calls on them. If you have pulled for them and not gotten paid you can contact OOIDA
And if you havent pulled for them DONT!!!! -
Any luck with a broker by the name of Twin Modal?
