Another site that I have found is decent for finding companies is the following.
Green bay, Wisconsin Trucking Companies - Transport Freight Shipping Service Companies
They list companies by state and city, and are quite extensive.
Bear in mind though that the companies listed may be wrecker companies, trash haulers, lumber companies, and the like. If it has a DOT number its listed.

I'm glad I found this thread, great info here!

Fancy that site showed me so many local companies that I never knew existed near me.
Another thing that link shows is the safety data of the company your interested in, by clicking on the name of the company. -
I saw that as I was going through the companies. I found about 4 other companies 2 of them local that I went ahead and applied for. They had nothing on their site in regards to otr experience. I have 2 others that don't have a website. I think I am going to go do a drive by ( so to speak) and see what they look like before I call them on the phone. Thanks again for the great link misterG.

No, but if you can ask a few drivers. You'll get a better picture of what the company is all about if you get the same answer from a couple of drivers. -
I also went down to Triple T here in Tucson looking for some drivers there. Must of been a slow day or I got there to late but there were only a few drivers that were in the drivers areas. I spoke to a Schneider driver says he been there 30 years. lmao looked like it too.
He was pleasant and said he loved working for them, he had been with some other company for like 2o years before that and tried to retire but missed the road to much. There was also a O/O there that was also a really nice guy. He gave me a number to call some Gal he knows as soon as I get out of school and get some time in.
I tried talking to another trucker from Werner at the fuel stall. He pretty much waved me off so I didn't bother him anymore.
I just want to make sure I have enough knowledge to do this job safely and efficiently.
I plan another trip down there again before I go to school and see what other companies I can find to ask questions of.
Thanks again for the great insight. -
I don't know how it is nowadays but Triple T is a well known truck stop. Just keep gathering information and it may be worth keeping a notebook on what you hear and see. I wish that I had because I had a fish and chips dinner one time that was out of this world. I spent a year trying to remember and find it until I gave up.
You could really setup the computer for information too. Have all of the information at your finger tips. It's yours to put down what you want. I'd list everything from good stops to truck breakdowns.Fancymcberry Thanks this. -
