Yes, agree. Delivering in the afternoon tomorrow and it pushed mine out until 1230 on Tuesday. Makes no sense.

I wish I had answers for that, sadly, I know very little of how the L/O's contracts or pay works.

I agree. Years ago I drove for JB Hunt, and they had a loaner car at each terminal for drivers to use to do stuff like that. Other companies have had a shuttle van that someone from the terminal would operate, or would let a driver be the shuttle driver for a trip to WalMart.

I would like to see Swift do this as well.

I hate that thing. Maybe with the new electronic logging, that piece of crap will go away.

Funny how different drivers have such different experiences with getting home. We are all planned by the same crew. I had some real favors done for me to get me where I wanted to be. Several times I know Swift has to have lost money on a load just to get me somewhere. Seems like they try hard to keep us happy.

Example- I wanted to get to Ocala for my vacation at the end of February. It was getting close to a week past my request, and still nothing going into Florida. I was in Savannah, and they told me to DH to Ocala, pickup a trailer at the Kmart DC and take it around the corner to the terminal and T-call it. A complete waste, really, but it got me to Ocala for my vacation.

That is one thing I will never complain about in regards to Swift is their ability to get me where I want to go for time off.

Oh man, would that be nice! I have been burned by that bugger a couple of times. Now, if I have reason to believe that the supercomputer has changed my PTA, I send in a new mac10 and reset the PTA to my liking.

I can do that to a point. After so much time passes between when your PTA was set and when the 'puter wants to set it, it will not let you reset it. Then you have to msg dispatch. Be nice if they'd just get rid of it. More of a pain than it's worth.
