Kuhnle brothers

This might not be the kind of info you are looking for but I'm a wannabe, so I'm limited to what I can dig up on-line. What I saw in their SafeStat was really good with CSA 2010 breathin' heavy!

Basically, their VehicleSEA has been good over the last 30 months. A bit of a rise, but that might be due to deferred maintenance.....money's been tight. Their DriverSEA score has almost been cut in half over the last 30 months. That's impressive. It went from 95.46 down to 57.75!

I'm sure some veteran drivers will weigh in on your thread soon enough and give you some pertinent, real-life information.

stay far far away from this hillbilly redneck company, pay is lousy, trucks are older then dirt. and benefits are sub-par at best. run away from this place. the pay is 22% of the load, when empty which is often your working for FREE. Kuhnle brothers is the bottom feeders of the tank industry, STAY AWAY.

 

I agree with tankerman, i worked for these scumbags in 06, they are real ##### holes!!! I quit after i got my paycheck and it was $300.00 short! I called the office to find out why? And was told that they had to cut their rates to be competitive, and didnt notify any drivers. I as well as 7 other drivers quit that day.. There was alot of empty trucks at the yard when i returned from chicago!!!!

 

You must be a troll...A very bad one to. Anyone that knows tankers know that you get fed off percentage. The pay is pretty good. Very few if any tanker company pays empty mileage.

The pay is pretty good. It takes a special kind of driver to haul this freight. Kuhnle is definitely not bottom of barrel. Trust me I've seen bottom of the barrel. Their an old company that will feed you when their being fed. Which is most of the time.

 

a troll really? i have been pulling tankers for 7 years. so i know what im worth. and yes being at Kuhnle bros. is being at the bottom of the barrel. i worked for a company in new jersey that paid .44 per miles empty and loaded. and i also was paid for anything i did hourly everything from pre and post trip to fueling and loading and unloading. basically when i was driving i was making .44 per mile and when the truck stopped i went onto the clock. and being on the clock paid $18.50 per hour. i did nothing for free at this company. and my best year at this company was over $93,000 and yes i have the W-2 to prove my wages. so when i compare that company to kuhnle, yes they are bottom feeders in the tank industry. at kuhnle you do your pre and post trip, fueling, loading and unloading for free. so tell me how this is beneficial to a driver? the only person that gains from this is the company. not to mention they dont pay certain things like they say they do. meaning holiday and your 1 personal day. so i will repeat only go here if you need a job. all there trucks are junk they have been totaled and rebuilt. i had truck number 470 and that truck was totaled a few times from what i was told. so i will repeat stay away from this bottom feeder tank company

 

When you are working on a percentage, tank or flat bed, reefer, dump, hopper, whatever, all your loading,unloading, tank wash time, tarping, mt miles, is included in the percentage. Always know what the percentage is before you accept a load. 22% of nothing is nothing. I pulled a tank for 10 years and we were on the clock when we weren't driving. A lot of tanking is running empty. Who pays for your benefits? Percentage usually isn't a good deal for a driver, unless the rate is really high.

 

I dont know much about kuhnle but I was delivering to a customer in elwood city or maybe neville island( somewher too close to pittsburgh) about a year or so back and one of their drivers was there he was driving an old w900 he didnt seem to impressed with them the way he was talking he was looking to find about anything he could and move on...I did not know this guy from the man in the moon so you can take it for what its worth....as far as tanker guys not getting paid empty miles thats a new one to me...the company I work for pays everything...loading, unloading,fuel,layover, breakdowns..we are a union terminal but our non union guys get paid for everything just like we do...my brother pulled plastic pellets for fleet and chemical leman and he pulled a tar buggy for a local outfit and he was paid for everything he did...as far as i know its pretty standard for tanker guys to get paid for everything they do...
